Okay I know it is last minute but I was hoping to a book a studio just about anywhere for the 5th-10th. Of course the 5th and 6th are open but not the 7th-10th. I waitlisted for any studio, what do you think my chances are?

That is the food and wine festival and very popular with DVC people. I would doubt at this point that the waitlist will come true but you never know I would say no period when you are 30 days out.

I realize that the OP waited till just a couple of months beforehand but, how hard is it to book the first or second week of October with your 11 month window? We just joined and are hoping for a two bedroom at AKL next (08) October.

Thanks!

Ty

We attend F & W every year and I almost always book 11 months in advance at WL and have not had a problem. I have booked twice late (once only 2 months out and once 3 months out), I was able to get a studio and/or 1 -bedroom at SSR and OKW, but not WL.

Thanks - I'll be booking day by day at exactly 11 months - sorry for hijacking your thread SnowWitch!

I booked for October at my 11 month window with absolutely no problems at SSR. Then at my 7th month window was able to move to VWL and even the Beach Club. We are excited about going.

We were able to book studios and 1 bedrooms at BWV ay 7 months out for this year but within a few days things had filled up.

There is a waitlist thread going for October - I think people have been waitlisted for some days pretty much since shortly after the seven month window. Between Food and Wine and the Halloween party, its a pretty popular time of year.

(Few issues between 11 and seven months - although a lot of people call day by day for BWV Standard View or Boardwalk View or BCV 2 Queens or Grand Villas anywhere - but SOMETHING is generally available until about five months out - though shortly after the seven month window opens, the Epcot resorts are fully booked.)

In addition to F&W and MNSSHP as Crisi mentioned, it's also Columbus w/e...

:goodvibes

I booked the third week of October at the end of May and I was able to get a 2bd for four nights and a 1bd for 1 night at SSR. No waitlist.

Last year, I switched from a 2 bd at BWV to a combo of a studio for one night and a 1bd for 3 nights during the first week of November (Jersey Week and last week of F & W). I think I called in May and June, and all the dates on my waitlist came through the middle of July. Unfortunately, the last night never came available ... actually there were no rooms available at any of the resorts at WDW that night!:scared1:

Good Luck!

A few weeks ago I tried booking 6 nights in a studio at basically any resort between Oct and Dec, and the only ressie I could get was SSR in mid Dec.

As others have said, October is a very popular month. Nov/Dec seems to be as well.

We booked SSR at 10 months and got a 1 bedroom no problem. As others have said, I am sure that the F & W fest is a big draw (one of the reasons we go almost every October).

Last year I booked at SSR, then at the 7 month window I booked the BWV for a 1 bedroom, and got in no problem.

Good luck, hope you get a spot

You are talking about a holiday weekend. A minor holiday, but it still means some students will be out of school, so it does effect travel. It is also the weekend of Canadian Thanksgiving, and also know the Canadians like to travel south too.

I'd been on a waitlist for a studio at SSR on Oct. 7 since July 13. I was about to write that I have been on the waitlist, but I just did my near-daily waitlist check (on the official site) and it finally came through! Initially, they told me the week I wanted, Oct. 4-12 was completely unavailable. Then I asked them if any of the nights were free, and booked the days that were available, waitlisting for the three nights that weren't. Two came through fairly quickly, but that Sunday night was a long and anxious wait.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a one night ressie at Pop to cancel!

Thanks to all that have posted. I think I'm about to book the Poly and forgo DVC's waitlist. I can't stand the not knowing. We love the Poly anyway. WooHoo we're going to Disney.

My waitlist for the 28th just came through so there is some hope.

Oct. is also becoming a busy time because of Fall breaks from schools.
However, we have had no trouble booking at the 11 month window!:wizard:
