What's this about a Pirate Night?

My husband and I are taking our first cruise in September. It's a 4 day cruise on the Wonder, going to Nassau. I've seen a lot of mention on these boards about a pirate night. Is that only on particular cruises? If so, will it be on ours?

If it is, I'm going to keep it a secret and buy the attire ahead of time and stash it in my suitcase.

Thanks! pirate:

I'm looking forward to my first pirate night on the wonder in December.

I'm still trying to find out which night it is on. If anyone knows........

From what I gather they have a special Menu for Pirates IN the Caribbean. they give out bandanas to wear. And they have a Pirates Deck party at night on the top deck. I also heard about fireworks. :earsboy:

DH and I have obtain some semi Pirate attire. We got him a black gauze shirt with leather lacing. I got a Blousy type shirt with big sleeves.

Hope they still have it when we go. And I hope they have it while on our Parrot Cay diner night.

I recommend doing a search of the cruise line forum using the keywords "pirate night" - you'll end up with more information that you can imagine! pirate:

In a nutshell:
on our four-night in June, it was on Tuesday (Castaway Cay) night. Every dining room had the same menu, servers dressed up, very few guests were dressed up on our night, but we knew about it and packed a few things (didn't go completely overboard - no pun intended). There was a deck party with a show and fireworks and, more importantly, a dessert buffet!

Arrr, so now ye know, ye scurvy dog!

Pirate night is on all DCL cruises. It is new this year, so I'm sure it will be around for a long time. Especially since Pirates of the Carribbean 2 is due out in 2006 and #3 will be out in 2007.
WE thought it was the best deck party yet for DCL. We have done 7 DCL cruises so far. We will be going in December again and are going to dress up as pirates. It was great fun.
Yes , there is a special pirate menu, a complimentary pirate bandana, your waiters dress in pirate attire, characters dress in pirate attire that night too. There is pirate dancing, singing, character skit and fireworks. A late night deck buffet afterwards. The more people dress up, the better it is!
Have a great time!!!!

Pirate Night is awesome!

Before we went on our cruise this pass April, I mentioned to DW that I read about Pirate Night here on the DISBoards, and how some people are dressing up as Pirates. DW, bought the whole family pirate outfits. Even though we were the only adults dressed up, we had a great time. There has been a lot more talk about it, and I think more and more people are getting dressed up. It only adds to the fun at the deck party.
