what's the worst thing you've eaten at wdw?

I haven't read all the responses but everything we have ever eaten in Morocco has been just awful. I know people love this place but I am not sure what we are doing/ordering wrong? And we have tried it a few times because we forget how awful it is:confused3 :lmao:

We enjoyed the restaurant....Marrakesh. But that Tangerine Cafe, or whatever you call it, YUCK. Everything was AWFUL. After reading such wonderful reviews , we tried it with high expectations. That was our first mistake. But yuck. Never again. At least not for a LONG time!

Here's my peeve. It IS possible to make cheap, quick food that is, in fact, not only edible but actually GOOD. One shining example--Five Guys Burgers and Fries. I guess the reason this irks me is that I EXPECT that crap from any old amusement park. I just know Disney can do so much better, but they make the choice NOT to.

Ineteresting. While I agree with everthing else you say, I disagree with you about FG. I feel strongly FG could do WAAY better. For one thing, the decor is just not remotely pleasant. I've been to several and the lighting alone always hurts my eyes. The food is not much better. The very limited menu drives me nuts. The hot dogs are really bad. I don't eat there.

I also hold that several WDW quick serves do have redeeming food. Or at least they have at times. A HUGE factor here is that food quality at WDW changes over time, as do TS menus. Food quality at WDw overall, is not what it was just a few years ago.

Case in point. As with any comments on food - it REALLY depends WHEN you went to each of these places - and most folks here are not commenting on WHEN they had this food.

Morocco's quick serve has had some great dishes. But they frequently change their menu. Not so long ago, our famiy had a most excellent meatball dish there. It was like classic meatballs and spagetti - only it was serverd with mildly seasoned rice. This past spring, I was looking forwad to having it again, only to find it was no longer on the menu.

Anoher shocker to me - along the lines of what cgattis said - is that before the remodel, we dined at Mexico's quick serve. They could not give me a dish without the sour cream.. Nope. C'mon - even the worst fast food Mexican places can give you a taco minus the sour cream!

Another example - just a few years ago, WDW had GREAT mac and cheese. It was made with REAL cheese, and FREQUENTLY was Mickey-shaped. More recently, WDW serves really nasty artificial (maybe Kraft?) Mac and Cheese. It's disgusting.

The Western Chicken Pasta at Whispering Canyon. It was SO garlic-y, and had no chipotle spice flavoring whatsoever. The chicken was chewy and it was like eating plain egg noodles doused in garlic. Ick.

I also was not fond of the pizza at Pizza Planet at DHS. It had a pool of grease on top and it was not cut. Before we left the counter, I noticed the other pizzas around me were cut and asked the CM at the counter if it was supposed to be cut. His response: "it's supposed to be. There's knives over there". Really?? Because I want to cut this pizza with a plastic knife when you can just grab me another pizza or take the pizza slicer and cut this real quick. Lazy. :sad2:

A cupcake at Pop that looked good but was too sweet and lacked taste. I also didn't care much for pizza planet pizza...

Everything we ordered from Tony's at the MK was gross. But, the steak was the worst...so fatty and tough. The manager was nice though and was eager to replace it with an acceptable piece. It is the only WDW restaurant I would never go back to.

We found a feather in a chicken tender from the children's buffet at the Crystal Palace. Talk about sickening!! From them on, we stick to breakfast at CP.

I did encounter once though at Marrakesh quickservice they handed the wrong order to somone who handled the food, returned it, they put it back in the cold case, and then tried to reserve it to us... lol FDA violation sorry no thanks! lol!

I had something similar happen to me in the airport when I was ordering something for DH. They handed his burger and fries to someone else. She picked up the bun, looked at it and said it wasn't hers. She handed it back to the employees and they said "Oh, this one's yours" and handed it to me. I told them, with the lady still within ear's shot, that they had to make me a new one and she just kinda glared at me. I told her that I would except her to do the same if the roles were reversed.

The crab cake at Hollywood Brown Derby. I am from Maryland where crab cakes are an art form. The ones at the brow derby were missing the nice lumps of meat. It was really weird.

A Dole Whip in MK that was cold, but no flavor whatsoever:confused3
The Cobb Salad at Brown Derby in DHS had lettuce so shredded it was almost liquid:eek:
Not bad considering the hundreds of meals and thousands of items we've eaten over the years:thumbsup2

I think it was the lobster soup at Coral Reef. It tasted like dish water that had had some fishy things drop in it.

We were just there for the first time a few weeks ago, ordered the steak, and thought it was a good meal (not the best steak ever...but wasn't expecting that, liked the side of squash and watercress). I'd ordered mine rare, came to the table medium - they were extremely prompt and pleasant about correcting the order and came back with the steak correctly cooked on a new plate. My mom's lamb and polenta was very good as well.

I'd say the worst meal we had on our trip was at Whispering Canyon...service couldn't have been slower and my cousin had the same complaint about the garlic-y chicken dish that the PP mentioned. "Milkshakes" were also a big disappointment...clearly all vanilla shakes with fake tasting syrup added to flavor it.

The worst ever was the old CS at Mexico....so awful.

the cheesesteak sandwich at the plaza. i have no idea what i was thinking ordering this to begin with, as i NEVER eat these, but it was really nasty.

Bacon at breakfast.

I don't know what it is, maybe the way the bacon is cured before baking or the way it is baked. But I find the bacon I've had anywhere in the US so far utterly inedible and tasteless, tastes more like dry cardboard than juicy pig.

My family calls it paper bacon...we swear they print out sheets of it somewhere then just start photocopying them until they have enough for that day! I agree, the bacon is awful. However, I had breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe one morning and they had 'juicy pig' bacon :thumbsup2

Shrimp fried rice from the CS place in China......absolutely flavorless, even after I added soy sauce.

I will probably get flamed for this:

I had the beer cheese soup from the Canada F&W booth, and thought it was horrific, just gross.

If that is what they are serving at Le Cellier and people go ga-ga for it, they can have my ADR for LC. That is one of the reasons I was going to go, but now I am not so sure.

So far I have never had a bad meal at WDW, except for that soup.

Oh, don't let this thread get you down for your trip!:goodvibes Seriously, it's just opinions.

Ditto! I've been going to WDW since before it opened, 1971 (50 quickly approaching) and if in all those years, and all those calories, pardon me meals, I complain about 2 or 3 things I've eaten, then you should be encouraged rather than discouraged! ;)

Still with that said, Ixnay ABC Commissary! Sick 2 times, and not just me!

See, I happen to love that soup but I had it in the restaurant not at F&W.

To each his own!
