what's the worst thing you've eaten at wdw?

The mac and cheese kids meal *shudders*. I didn't want a whole meal so I thought I'd just eat that but it was nasty. It had a weird "texture" I can't really describe. The cookie that came with it was good though.

A burger at ABC Commissary...I'm not sure how they managed to screw that one up...it's a burger! And if its like most fast food places aren't they just microwaving it????

The hot dogs we got this past trip at Casey's. They have apparently switched to whole wheat buns since 2006 and we weren't expecting that. They tasted awful, even with a ton of ketchup. This was our favorite quick meal at teh MK so it was a big disappointment. (and to add to this, apparently the quick service burgers are also served on the wheat buns, I just didn't think they were as bad as the hot dogs).

The stringy, inedible, nearly raw ostrich at the obnoxiously loud, California Grill (with a server who didn't have a clue and clearly didn't care to get one).

Never again.

I hope Disney is reading these and taking them to heart.

In the past few years we have noticed a serious decline in the quality of the food at the Disney restaurants. Places we used to love like O'hana's have disappointed us to the point where we are considering going off property to eat. It would be worth the walk/drive.

Our personal never do agains are Sci-Fi...cold awful consistently, San Angel Inn...they made the three strikes and you're out list, Nine Dragons changed the quality of the food apparently under new management and new dishware and the food went downhill, Tony's in MK has hit the three strikes and you are out list, Boma...my wife thought the buffet was awful, any pizza you order from Disney...hey....it ain't rocket science! Rose and Crown....don't pay to eat inside....the sidewinder has the same food for a third the price...and the amount of breading can vary widely....

Hollywood and vine we have had two good experiences in a row so we will try there again. The ABC commissary we have never tried so we can't comment on that.....Pinocchio Village Haus....used to have the best double cheeseburgers at Disney and now the food is at best edible.

Disney used to be a place for us to experiment and try new wonderful things and now they have us thinking about Mickey D's for a dinner as a better option.

Our two cents!
The problem is, these things are subjective. Some people are very picky eaters(like my Mom) and manage to find fault with everything. I've had great meals at Sci-Fi and Nine Dragons. I think what helps too is listening to your server..most I've come in contact with will give a truthful answer as to what is good on the menu and what isn't.

I can't really say I've had a bad meal at WDW- I have my favorites places, which helps. I like:

Crystal Palace(good breakfast)
Liberty Tree Tavern(like the pot roast and turkey dinner)
Coral Reef(like the blackened catfish)
Le Cellier(had a phenomenal Filet Mignon)
Biergarten(I'm an adventurous eater though)

Tried the Wave for the first time and loved it..and I have to admit, I cannot grasp the concept of disliking Dole Whips..:confused3;):goodvibes

Lunch at Biergarten. Absolutely disgusting. The worst I ever had. I do like Dole Whips.

I know many will disagree with me but I hated the Cobb Salad at the Brown Derby. It was like mush!

I have got to go with the Kid's Chicken nuggets at Cosmic Ray's and the Kid's Burger (everywhere we have tried it) Both are quite Nasty. How can something be both dry yet greasy? The packages grapes seem slimy half the time, and the carrots are often dry. Disney is the one place I let my DS eat all of his fries before anything else, and it's not just because we are on vacation. It's often the best thing in the kid's meals. I usually wind up sharing with him because the kid's QS meals are not so good.

The chicken sandwich at Tomorrowland Noodle Terrace on the last trip was dry, tasteless and comes with chopped tomatoes? I mean really! I like tomatoes, but that's impossible to eat without wearing it.

The turkey at the Garden Grill was awful. Dry, tasteless, and not even warm. If we eat there again, I will ask them to not even bring it.

I happen to love Stouffers....lol! I buy it all the time at home.

What is all this hoopla about the Dole Whips? What are they? Sounds kind of good to me.
The Dole Whip stand is near the Swiss Family Robinson house in MK. Dole Whip is basically soft serve pineapple icecream. Our family loves the floats - a dollop of dole whip on top of fresh pineapple juice. yummy and very refreshing on a hot day (last year right after we got one a storm broke. we ran for cover in the gift shop next door, and several people asked us what we had and where could they get one LOL!). The same stand also has fresh pineapple spears (and plain vanilla soft serve I think).

Our dinner at Chef Mickey's was just plain bad. We were soooo looking forward to eating there last August. We mostly filled up on bread and salad because the rest was yucky. The restaurant itself was dirty....food on the floor, food on the bar, etc. Needless to say, we won't be going back there any time soon.

We used to eat at ABC Comm. at Hollywood Studios all the time but over the years, the food got consistently worse. Haven't been there the past three trips.

We had the same experience there a few years back as well. We also waited 30+ minutes after our reservation time before we were seated. I thought that may have influenced my decision to eat here - but perhaps not.

I will whole heartedly agree with you, this is one of only three meals in ten plus trips that I couldn't finish. I love big complicated salads with a million ingredients, but due to being so chopped up the texture was disgusting. The other two meals were the Chicken Parm at Tony's (chicken was dried out and the sauce was worse than cheap jar sauce), and the Filet Mignon with Mushroom Risotto at Le Cellier (this one I chalk up to a bad night, as the beef tasted like liver).

The pizza from Pizza Planet in DHS. Tasted like cardboard with cheap sauce and non-fresh tasting cheese. I doubt I will ever return, unless they change the pizza (think Domino's recent ad.) :)

I'm surprised at the amount of people who hate Dole Whips. We had them at the Dole plantation in Hawaii and loved them. I don't know if I've had one in Disney. I'll have to get one on our upcoming trip. :scratchin:

The ones at the Dole Plantation are better, but I still love the WDW version also.
