What's the word on the refurbed Club 33?

We're not members but scored a reservation a couple years ago for lunch. Thought the child buffet and dessert buffet were great and had a great meal - well worth it. Need to decide on trying to score another reservation for our March trip.

I understand the lunch offering has changed - just straight meals now?

Can members still make reservations for guests without escorting them like before?

It is now a multi course meal at a fixed price and you get to choose from three to four items for each course category

Yes, but members are now limited to only 20 unaccompanied reservations per year. Unless you are really in good with your host, it may be more of long shot now. Hint...still ask your host but invite them along to share their Disney experiences. Members can make as many reservations as they want if they are in attendance!

I personally like the new menu and multi course. Pre refurb, I would only visit when entertaining gusts and skip the Club in favor for much better food at Napa or Carthay when my regular group was at the park. Now I thoroughly enjoy the dining experience and food choices. Although the portions are much smaller which is one of the biggest member complaints I like being able to enjoy an appetizer, multi courses AND dessert meal and not feeling like I am gonna explode still three hours later.

My wife and I are going next week and I have never thought about being able to get in because of the exclusivity.

No questions are ridiculous. The only way to find out if you don't know, is to ask. Yes, a member must make your reservation.

Also new this year, if you are dining without the member, reservations for Fri, Sat and Sun can only be made 2 days in advance and reservations for Mon-Thurs can be made 2 weeks in advance. I think I got that right. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The VIP Tour is usually only $385/hour for 6 hour minimum...and they can't guarantee you a reservation - especially at a busy time- but it's a likely chance you can go. You also can do Walt's apartment (should be back early 2015) and the Dream Suite if you ask.

I did the tour Christmas eve and we only got to see the Dream Suite. The Dream suite was pretty amazing, but I was still kind of disapointed about not seeing the apt or club 33.
Asked the tour guide and he said that they because of the refurb skip the club and that they had been asked to back off and therefore would the entryway of club 33 not be a part of the tour - even after the refurb.....
He also said that they weren't doing Walt's apt anymore, the Dream suite was now part of the tour. He, and the guide who showed us the suite, said something about the apt not being wheelchair accessible...
I was bummed that I didn't get to see the apt! It was one of the biiig reasons I did the tour!

Sorry for you're disappointment, regarding touring Walt's apartment. You can thank the ADA for that. How it normally works is that a public place, be it a restaurant or amusement park has to be accessible to all patrons, not just a percentage. Many a business has gone under, due to not being able to afford to comply with the ADA or not having the necessary square footage. As a result, the majority of people that are not in need of handicap accessibility, have to pay the price for the population that is and MIGHT patronize such a property.

We will be there in March. Our DS(10) was really looking forward to the walk in Walt' s Footsteps tour. He is such a history buff and "Disney-phobe" like his Mama!! TBH... I do not think we will go if both the apartment and Club 33 lobby are not included. It is hardly a " Walk in Walt's Footsteps" if the tour does not include where he actually "set foot"! Lol! If they include one of them I will probably still take him. If both are gone I can not justify the cost as the big price increase a couple of years ago was when they included the apartment. Touring the Dream Suite is not very exciting to us in comparison.
