What's the word on the castle decorations?

Are the decorations going to stay or are the coming down anytime soon?

I've done some searching but couldn't didn't find any definitive answers.

Personally, I hope they stay around for a while longer!

I believe they may have already started taking them down. If not, then they will be this month.

Just returned yesterday, and the decorations are coming down. the mirror is still on, but off of a few towers already.

Yep, the mirror is still there but, pretty much everything else is on it's way down. Sunday the spires on the lower levels were already back to normal.

You can tell, after removing the decorations that the castle needs some painting, which it is going to get. The blue on the spires looks a little faded from the sun.

It's sad to see them go, they were very beautiful decorations, but I prefer the classic castle. I'll be glad to see it back to it's original look when we go down in January.

They are definitely coming down.. I was there Sunday and noticed alot of the stuff off already since my visit in March as I took lots of pictures then too and remembered there being more stuff on the castle.. Im excited to see how it will be decorated next though..

They are coming down as we speak. All the decorations on the left side (facing the castle) are down, and I believe the Peter Pan ones came down last night.

Its sad to see them go, but the castle is still very beautiful and full of magic.

I'm disappointed to see the decorations coming down. I'll be in WDW at the end of the month and was looking forward to seeing the Castle decorated, now it seems I'll be arriving just in time to see it in transition

I doubt the castle's new look will emerge in time for me to see it.

When we were there on Saturday we couldn't help but notice that the castle was half naked. It's sad to see the gold go. Happy to see the mirror will go!

I do prefer the clean, plain look.

I think the changes referred to are to rehab it for that new program where winners can sleep over for a night.

Cool pictures! It's weird to see the castle with one side all fancy and the other plain. I'm so used to see it with the gold decorations! But I'm very excited to see the plain castle again!!

I thought they would decorate the castle for The Year of a Million Dreams.
Maybe they plan to leave it plain? Didnt they decorate it for The Happiest Celebration on Earth? Then what was before that? Celebrating 50 years or something like that?
They had it decorated like a cake at one time.

Anyone know the history of the castle, themes and decorations?
