I received a card in the mail that says "Game-on XXX Family" and has a 3 letter package code. So, I call thinking it's an offer only to find out after being put on hold for 1/2 an hour - it's nothing.

The CM didn't understand why it wasn't giving a discount so put me on hold to find out, what a waste of time. Shouldn't he have known what it was. So, I've read about others getting Game-on codes that were discounts, so assumed mine was too, guess not. Just wanted to vent that Disney shouldn't send out fake offers and then take forever to tell you that!!! Very frustrated, have others gotten this silly card too?

I would call back in case the CM was confused or misinformed - it wouldn't be the first time. I haven't heard of anyone getting a game-on PIN that didn't offer anything...other messages were sent out as reminders but not the Game-on PINs.

He talked to someone else which is what put me on hold for 30+minutes, then he asked if I wanted to transfer to I'm assuming that person or someone else who was just a big jerk about it and say nope nothin for you! If I have time I'll call back, otherwise it just left me annoyed!

Oh and it also says "Pick up a special gift at" with a URL with my name and a 10 digit number - it goes to a page to pick either WDW or DL and then just goes to the disney world homepage. There's no gift anywhere, I just don't get these games Disney plays.

If that is the case and you get no results the next time you call I would ask to speak to customer service. If what you received in the mail gives a three digit PIN or a link to a 10 digit PIN that should be something, and if not then it is misleading and I would definitely speak to someone about it.

I think from what we have seen here:

Some game-on "PIN" messages include only a 3-letter code which is usually just a regular-priced package (so it seems). This usually isn't a discount at all, and people here have been pretty angry because it's not a real PIN.

Some include proper PINs (10 digits) and are either for a small % room discount or quick-service dining. You have to call to find out what it's actually for.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

My DW and I received a “Game On” email back in mid-May.

Game on XXX Family…

Thanks for creating a customized map online! Now it’s our move. And since you’re thinking about coming in October, the offer to the right would be a great way to get the most magic out of your stay.

Remember to mention package code XXX

Well the rates posted on the right were rack rates so I called the Disney to find out what I was missing. The cast member asked for the PIN code. Needless to say they were looking for a 10 digit code not a 3. After a few minutes the cast member told me the code was for free QS dining. I booked the trip and saved around $700.00 on an eight night stay at the Polly.

The whole thing seemed a little off to me and certainly not Disneyish. But hey, we are heading to Disney with a discount.

I'm laughing because I'm doing everything humanly possible to get myself in line for a PIN. Someone says save vacation offers, I go right over and do it. Someone says create custom maps... here I go!

It's so Pavlovian. :sad2:

I'm calling back and they are annoying and don't have a clue what this card is, they don't know what the 10 digit number is, I've talked to a regular CM, a manager and a web person and he said he didn't know what it was either. Whatever, Disney is frustrating me! I'm glad others can get something but no luck here.

My next move would be a call to customer service - everyone you've spoken to acknowledges it's a 10 digit PIN but they don't know what it is...something is wrong and very misleading....:upsidedow

I'm not sure if I talked to a customer service person or not but I've talked to 5 different people today.

I do have a question though, I thought pins were 15 digits, but based on what others have said, can they be 10 digits? When you call the number it asks for 15 digits not 10. Maybe it's nothing anyway...

Even if it is..nothing... they shouldn't have sent you...nothing... if they felt the need to send something. I wouldn't give up just yet.

Call and ask to speak with a person in guest relations. A very nice man helped me out greatly today!

Keep trying. I got a Game On email, and it took 4 cast members before someone figured it out, and even she took a long time to puzzle through it. One woman insisted that she'd applied my PIN, but then quoted me rack rate! I got 35% off at a Value, though, so I'd say it was a worthy use of half of my off day. It was all very frustrating. If they sent you anything, it must mean something, but this Game On business has been as confusing to CMs as to guests.

Mine very cleaerly spells out that it is a 30% off discount and it has a 15 digit pin on it. It's on the inside. I just noticed that it also has the special gift message. I will go try that now!

Ok - I just put in my special gift code and it brought me to a downloadable wallpaper. But, if you scroll down, it shows my PIN offer.

Maybe delete your cookies and try the special gift code again?

I got the "game on" email last year about this time -- it was a three letter code giving me exclusive pricing at -- rack rate.

A few weeks later, got another "game on" email offering about 21% off a complete room/tickets/dining package.

I assume they're hoping you won't do any research and will just call in to get the "deal" or they'll magically "find" a discount for you if you DO complain about being offered rack rate.

Just go the "Game On" offer through regular mail today.

"XXX Family...
Time to finish planning the Walt Disney World Resort vacation you're thinking about!"

Values- $60
Moderates- $115
AK & WL - $175

09/01-09/29 Sunday through Thurs; book by 07/28

There was a 15 digit pin code as well. This is such a weird promotion because it seems like this "Game On" promo is different for everyone. Some are getting different percentages off or dining offers.

Just to confuse you even more, I do nothing and get pins fairly frequently--at least once a year and sometimes up to 15 a year. Not that it means anything, I can't usually use them.

Oh, and we do go yearly and have APs.

And I do everything to get a PIN, and have never, ever received one. I also am an AP holder who makes several trips. I'm beginning to think PIN stands for plan includes no-one. I just have to hope for a good AP code, or Florida Res code, or GP code, or if all else fails, use my AAA discount. If I ever managed to get a PIN, I would find some way to use it!
