We are going to WDW for a week in November after our cruise - we have the Dining plan. Our TA made a reservation for us at CRT - instead of using our credit card simply to secure our reservation they charged the full $170 something to our card. I called my TA and she got in touch with Disney and they said they would correct it. Because we have the dining plan they didn't need to charge the whole amount... and this is what happened
In order to refund the money they had to cancel our reservation which was at 5:30 (the perfect time since we have a 5 year old) when they went to rebook the 5:30 time slot was no longer available - the closest time slot they could give us was 6:45
I was quite disappointed that even know it was their error in charging us that they couldn't just give us the same time slot. Next, we are from Canada - between when they charged us and when they refunded the money the exchange rate had changed and we ended up being out $20 to which Disney told our TA that it wasn't there problem because they can't control the exchange rate. I am not unrealistic - obviously Disney doesn't have any control over the exchange rate - but it was their error that cost us both our ideal time slot (which we booked on our first available ADR) and $20
I find it quiet frustrating that they didn't seem bothered by this. I understand they whomever made the error is human and things happen, but I really would have thought that Disney would want to rectify the situation and keep us happy.
