Magic!! That's what were after for our first WDW trip! So...if you could suggest one thing... off the beaten path of WDW that you found that truly sent the magic meter off the charts...what would it be?? This is our first trip and we like those little surprises too, not just the big pie in the face surprises!! We are definitely going to dine with characters and enjoy the pool at Poly!! But what little secrets do you experts have for us. We are coming all the way from California so who knows if realistically we can afford this again. This may be it.

We are also going to Kennedy Space area for 4 days of beach and nature at Merrits Refuge and whatever else we can find.

Sorry this is so long!! We are a little excited...

I noticed that you have two young ones. My husband and I have a DS8 and he wanted to do one of the kid clubs for a night. So we said why not. He went to Simba's club house and my husband and I went to a nice romantic dinner and then the Down town Disney. We had so much fun and so did he! I was a little anxious about the whole thing at first, but the staff were really nice and they give you a pager for a "just in case."

My son loved it so much that he requested to go again. This time is is going to the Sand Castle Club. My husband and I are going to go to Epcot and do some "grown up" touring that he wouldn't necessarily enjoy.

That's just my two cents. :-) If you don't have the Walt Disney Passporter you should invest in that too. It's a great resource book to have for things to see and do and for some "off the beaten path" info.

Sorry this is so long, but I hope you enjoy! When are you going? :yay:

Of the behind the scene tours Disney offers would be great. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

My little private tradition is to get a glass of champagne from the wine shop in France Pavilion at Epcot and enjoy it while I watch Illuminations. It will be a perfect way to celebrate my first night back "home!"

Other things I can't wait to do:

Ride in the front monorail car
Eat a dole whip, a turkey leg and some amazing Disney fudge
Look for hidden Mickeys
Sing along with Grim Grinning Ghosts (softly, so as not to disturb others!)
Look for Devine in Animal Kingdom
Walk on the light-up sidewalks at Epcot
People watch at Downtown Disney
Buy a souvenir Christmas ornament, antenna ball and mouse ears
Watch Tinkerbell open the fireworks show (of course!)
Dapper Dans, living statues, British Invasion, streetmosphere performers, Japanese candy maker, etc.!

It's the little things that make WDW magical for me, more than Tower of Terror or Soarin' ever can or will!

Where can I find the Japanese candy maker? That sounds way cool! :woohoo:
