What's the nicest thing you've ever bought at WDW?

The thing I found that I love the best is just a simple heart necklace with Jasmine on it.. It has my daughters name on it, actually spelt the way I spell her name, AIMEE... I am heading back in about 3 weeks with no kids and hoping to find something again with her name on it.. will keep it to give to her on her birthday in October..

A gold and silver watch with 3 circles inside that make up the shape of Mickey's Head (I think it is day of the week, date, and military time?). Love that watch!

I just returned from WDW a couple of weeks ago and miss it like crazy. Of course, there are so many things that I wish I'd picked up while I was there, but I guess it gives me an excuse to go back soon.....

I did however pick up a limited edition sketch while I was there and I am so happy that I did. I had debated not getting it because, framed, it was $72 US and being from Canada, that's more like $115 for me. It was a sketch I got from Epcot of Figment. I was there opening day to ride Journey Into Imagination and had one of only 100 sketches drawn.

Sandra :)

I love this thread, I was thinking that it would be mostly the expensive things we drool over in WDW. The simple things give such pleasure!
My favourite thing has to be the mickey etched glasses and wine glasses. Friends ask to use them when visiting.

2 Things I can think of!

First was a Christmas gift from my DH to me as a surprise! It was Christmas 2000 and I had just lost a "TON" of weight LOLOLOLOL and finally fit into regular clothes. I have wanted a sweater from Norway for ages but could never fit into it. Well, on this trip I tried it on and it fit! A medium even! I was so happy until I saw the price.....$225.00. It was a Dale of Norway Sweater, pure wool with Pewter buttons and all hand-made. It was beautiful! Well, later that night on Christmas Eve a package was delivered to our room and it was all wrapped up and guess what it was! I will never forget that great gift.

Second was a gift for our son who is now 17 but this was a few years back when the Lion King was just released. I am not sure of the year. But we had purchased the stuffed animals at the Disney Store when they came out. He had quite a collection. All of them except one...the HUGE Mufasa ( or it could be the adult Simba) but never the less it was over $100.00 and we only saw one of them in WDW during our trip that year. But of course we did not get it and said we could pick it up later. But alas....later came and it was gone! Our DS was heartbroken. This was the only one he needed to complete his collection of 15 or so. We contacted Concierge at the BC where we were staying and they went on a mission for us and on our last day located one at MGM. We were checking out so we drove over to MGM and they had it sent to the front store and we never mentioned it to our son that we were goimg for that. He thought we neeede another T-Shirt. Well, you should have seen his face when they brought it out! We have a video of it and it is priceless! It was almost bigger than him! That was the highlight of that trip for us all!

My favorite things are from AKL gift shop. Not so much for what they are but for what I learned about the culture when I bought them. I have a color print of African people dancing and playing instruments. I met the artist, Bushman #1 is the name he goes by, who spent hours talking with me over the course of my trip there. He explained so much about his culture. It was beautiful. I have the framed print hanging in my bedroom. It is very special to me. I love the colors and the movement in the print.

Last year, I treated myself to a Disney Studios jacket. It's a letterman's jacket also with leather sleeves and the Disney D on the front. I love wearing it because it takes me back to WDW every time I put it on. :D :D :D

Still just over a month before we go, not sure what goodies we will come back with but I would love to have more infoon the glass block with the picture etched in. This is our DD's first time and what a memory that will be. It would be great to have her picture in the block so we can see her at Disney every day.

The things that I've enjoyed most that I've bought at Disney World are three. In some eyes they might not be the "nicest" (esp. since in one case they can be bought elsewhere), but they have given me the most pleasure:

1. The Encyclopedia of Disney Animated Characters, by John Grant -- bought in souvenir shop at the Contemporary Resort
2. T-shirt: "The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror -- Understand the Gravity of the Situation" -- bought at ToT gift shop, natch
3. The Walt Disney World Official Album. This may be my favorite of all of them, in its own way, because each time I listen to it, I return to the park in my mind.

When we were there in April we gave each one of our DS 100. Disney Dollars. Ds 13 really got into pins and used most of his money on that. Ds 10 hadnt used much of his money so at the end of the trip he asked for his money to buy some gifts. He wanted to get something for me. I fugured a Tink magnet or keychain. Well, no way!! Nothing but the best for his mom. He borrowed a couple more bucks from dad and purchased and had mailed home a BEAUTIFUL surprise for me. A Tink on the Castle globe that not only plays music, it lights up!!! Oh its on my mantle and whenever someone comes over I light it up to show it off. He is so proud!!! when we got home he had to show all his friends what he bought!! DS 16 friend even noticed it and commented on how expensive those are!!!

PhotoBear where did you get those ears?

Nutz, the sweater sounds lovely...congratulations on your weight loss.

I love the resin frames with the year we were there on them. My desk is full of them.

Also I have the castle water globe that plays, when you wish upon a star.

One of the things I really treasure was free . . .did anyone else save the embossed 25th Anniversary poster that was given away at the MK in 1997??

Brought it home, had it matted and framed, and now it hangs proudly in my house. Really love the poster . . . but have to admit I really hated what they did to the castle that year  !!

I have two of those posters. :) haven't framed them yet, but will someday.

Last year I bought a great piece of Cheesecake at Rainforest Cafe in the Disney Village. But my wife snatched it away before i could finish it. I think that was the nicest thing i ever bought at WDW.

We went to DTD the day after we saw the Share a Dream Come True Parade. The first store we went to was the Disney Store and the first thing my 5 year old Disney Princess Freak DD saw was the Snow Globe that looked just like the float in the parade. It was a must have for her!!! It was an expensive gift for her but everytime I see it in her Disney Princess Decorated Room - I remember all the wonderful things from our 1st trip to WDW. It was worth every penny!!! ;)

What a neat thread! :)

I have more than one "nicest thing": my favorite plush Eeyore, bought at the Disney Store at MCO -- they don't make them anymore, and I've never seen one w/a cuter face (tho' he's getting a little nappy from being hugged so much! LOL); my Waterford Crystal Spaceship Earth w/the 2000 logo; and my Radko Cinderella Castle ornament.

I don't even have to ask dh what his favorite is: an LE Lily Belle engine and tender car w/a piece of Walt's original backyard railroad track mounted inside the case. Bought it at Art of Disney for more money than I care to recall. ;)

I have 2 expensive items that I love. The first is an Arribas Bros. crystal Tinker Bell my DH gave to me one Christmas...I have her seperated from all my other Disney figurines, she's right next to a lamp to pick up all the colors under her. My other favorite item is the Disney dishes my DH and I picked out right after we got married. Not too many people have Mickey on their dinner plates! :) And I was smart enough to buy 12 of each, spares in case of the enevitable breakage!
But, my most favorite, by far, Disney item cost maybe $3. My DD, when she was 3, took her daddy out to get me a mother's day gift. It was a child's Tick Tock wallet and she couldn't wait to show me all the places for change and dollar bills. I will cherish it forever! :)

I got the ears at a cart outside of Lion King at AK near the character meets. We were there at the end of October so I don't know if they are still there even though it is summer.

I think I also saw them at DD Christmas store. I got the wedding veil and top hat ones there for my tree.

Hope this helps:D

My boyfriend for Christmas got me a Hollywood Tower Hotel bathrobe, and I just love it. It's big and fluffy and comfortable.

Really, I prefer the HTH merchandise to the Tower of Terror stuff. It's more in keeping with the theme, and the theme is what I love about Tower.

Hmmm....let's see...

The nicest thing we've ever bought at WDW....

I know!

0.6% of unit 31B at the Boardwalk Villas!!

DVC is definitely the nicest thing we've ever bought at WDW!

I will have a sericel someday soon as well!
