Our first trip to WDW was last fall and it was like we led a charmed life. We got there and promptly received for my dd's birthday: a signed Cinderella picture and a lanyard with a pin on it, and a balloon; and for me and my dh's anniversary, a Micky/Minnie picture frame. (We were renting dvc points from a friend and she might have tipped them off.) That night we went to Illuminations and my daughter got to "start" the show. When we went to Belle's storytime my husband got picked to play the Beast.
This is a weird one, and "magical" is a strong word, but my first Pixie Dust encounter was at my very first Disney theme park visit; I went with my daughter to Disneyland about three years ago. We had driven a long way (our hotel was in Pasadena) and arrived mid-morning, and I was feeling frustrated I hadn't made it to an atm yet, but I assumed they'd be in the park. I pulled in and saw the parking booth and the guy said $7. I said "Pay now or at the end?" "Now" he said. I said, well, never mind, I have to turn around and find a bank, can you tell me where to find an atm? And smiled he handed me a validated parking ticket and told me to enjoy my day. It took me a while to understand he was waiving the fee. Now that I am familiar with Disney accomodation and hospitality, it doesn't seem that surprising, but at the time I was amazed. He just smiled and waived the fee! He wanted to make sure my Disney Day got started as happy as it could! It was then I knew I wasn't in Brooklyn anymore....
