What's the news on AAA discounts for 2015?

Just this morning I read another post about the buzz that AAA discounts for WDW may be going away at the end of this year. I know there was talk about this earlier this year, but I hadn't heard anything more for a while.

So - what's the scoop? I've used AAA room-only discounts on POFQ the last couple of years and would hate to see that go away. I'm already looking seriously at POP for 2015, and no AAA discount would definitely push me that way (since I might at least get a decent discount from Disney).

There was an official announcement earlier this year that Disney and AAA are severing ties.

Yeah, I contacted AAA a few weeks ago about booking a package and there was no discount at all, they we're oddly a few dollars more than the TA we're considering ordering.

I contacted my local AAA last week. They did not have 2015 rates but, I did get current tix prices and compared to Disney site prices. They were more at AAA. I asked and they told me theirs included taxes already, Disneys site did not. I think he said for the 4 day hoppers it was 12.00 cheaper through them (AAA). Hope they still have a discount or better rates for 2015! We will have 6 ppl in our immediate family, little ones 1st visit, he will be 4 y.o. and my mom is coming. Hope we can afford something not too outrageous!

I was told they will my have the "extras" like firework viewing etc but there will still be AAA rates for hotels. I'm sincerely hoping that is true! I could care less about the extras, I just don't want to pay rack rate lol!

I just tried to make an AAA reservation for Jan. 2015 and was told there are no longer AAA room discounts in 2015. :sad1:

Just got off the phone with my AAA TA, according to this TA, Disney and AAA are still negotiating. So there is still a chance there may be a discount. According to the TA, Disney and AAA went through a similar "disagreement" last year but were able to work things out. So let's keep fingers crossed.

I am still booking through AAA, since the rates won't be any higher than booking directly with Disney for the Room and when I priced the tickets out, AAA was about 5-6% cheaper.

Currently working on a return trip end of May 2015 using my AAA TA, so I am keeping fingers crossed.

From my AAA Agent this morning: I have received your e-mail concerning Disney room-only discounts for
AAA mbrs stay in 2015, however, from what i understand, AAA and DIsney are
still discussing that topic. Unfortunately, we do not have any information regarding
any discounts in 2015 yet.

Thanks for the update!

Thanks for the update! I am still hopeful that they will be able to work this out. I know my friends on the DIS will let us know as soon as they strike a deal!:grouphug:

This is a huge bummer. I have been trying to convince my hubby to take a trip to WDW (I haven't been in 4 years, and he hasn't been in 30!)... and the big selling point I keep using is how much we can save on the room with AAA. :worried:

I'm going mid March and AAA might be my only chance of a discount at that time.
