Yes, its about that time of the year... to bring out the romance..

Me and some friends were talking about this the other day,and we were talking about the most romantic thing that our SO's have done...

Here one of mine:

I was turning 29 (this was 1999), and I was depressed by it. My DH gives me this little packet a few weeks before my birthday..

It was a little booklet he made with graphics, and clip art... stating... I know you have a hard time with your birthday, (turn the page) and how this is a milestone,(turn the page) and to make it special (turn the page), we are going to....

WDW! He purchased WDW tickets and fastened them to the last page of the book! He had an intinerary all done up, reservations made, and it was all a surprise to me.. (this was our first trip!)

It doesn't take much for me... I don't need to be wined and dined...

If I tell you it would get deleted.
Lets just say the 3 of us had fun ;)

  TMI!

DH has done soooo many things that are romantic. Hard to choose just one. He buys me flowers every year on our kids birthdays, when our kids were born, he gave me a gift of jewelry that have the birthstone of the month our kids were born, my engagement ring was a heart, we got engaged where we had our first date, he went on a trip to latvia with me and he couldn't speak the language, but did it for me. I could go on and on.... I am one very lucky girl!:D

Wow, Ratsrule, that sounds like a Valentine's Edition of a Penthouse Forum story. :p How incredibly romantic! :teeth:

My DH is very romantic, so I can't choose just one thing. I like gifts of a personal nature, and DH always comes through. One Valentine's Day he completely pampered me, made me breakfast in bed, drew my bath, gave me a pedicure! :) He has also surprised me with trips - once to Jamaica and once to a bed and breakfast. And lots and lots of flowers have been delivered to my house/office over the years. I'm so glad I married a romantic, cuz' I'm one too. :)

I'm getting my first roses this V-Day and we're going out for Pizza and Daredevil

I am not sure that constitues as romantic Ratsule, but I guess to each his own.... you are right I am sure it would get deleted

I got flowers delievered to work once...

::::hanging head in shame::::::::: Not sure if this was for a birthday of Valentines day........ LOL

I was working, when I left work I got into my car and there were roses all over the dash and seats.... plus a very sweet card......

When I got home, there were more roses, and DH (then DB) had candles lit and dinner ready.

I go to clean up from work and I come out to a present sitting on the table, it was diamond earrings.

After dinner as we were clearing the table, another box appeared, it was a gold heart and diamond necklace!

Then, later, <wink> I roll over and he hands me one more box, it was an Opal and Diamond tennis braclet!

I still think, just one surprise after another, when the roses in my car would have been enough........... (shhhhhhhh)

My DH does a lot of sweet things for me,and not just holidays. The other day he gave me the Danbury Mint Mickey Mouse in a New England Patriots uniform. He knows those are my two favorite things(Patriots and WDW)so he said he "had" to get it when he saw it :D

My husband is not super romantic, although he has sent flowers on a few occasions. However, on a daily basis he helps me around the house without being asked, he's a wonderful, very involved father to our kids, he provides very well for all of us and has never forgotten a birthday or anniversary. He has also bought me some beautiful jewelry in the past. All in all, I think I'll keep him, romantic or not .:D

When I was in college a former boyfriend sent me a letter a day while we were on break. Each one was a poem about me and what he missed or liked most about me. It was very cute and thoughtful and, I thought, very romantic.

Until this weekend.

While he's not my SO (although he's lobbying hard for the job), my friend did something so totally romantic. We haven't had much time to see each other between work and family commitments. We had hoped to get together on Saturday night but he was stuck working on a major project so we resigned ourselves to the fact we wouldn't be seeing each other.

But on Sunday morning there was a knock on my front door around 8:00. I opened it up and there he was with a picnic basket containing fresh baked scones still warm (I love a man who can cook), some jam, fruit salad, a thermos of fresh squeezed orange juice, and the Sunday paper. He proceeded to build a fire in the fireplace, lay out the picnic in front of it, and we had a wonderful morning just hanging out together.

the most romantic thing dh has ever done was my christmas present/proposal, which was a surprise trip to disneyland where dh proposed. :)

1~ When we found out that I was pregnant, and due to my unreliable cycle had a short 3 months to get *ready* to have a baby,( I had gone to his job to tell him) he brought home an engagement ring that night. Never once since he met me, I dont think, thas there been a single doubt in his mind that we bellong together.

2~ Our 11 yr old was born a month before my birthday. I must have had the worst case of post pardom depression that anyone ever had. I was litterally draggin myself through every day, b/c I loved hubby so much. On my birthday, he took the day off so that I wouldn't have to take care of her. She cried for hours until he took her out, and I could have an hour of peace and quiet. He returned with a pound of chocolate covered apricots(my favorite) and sunflowers(the nickname he gave me after knowing me for a month)At the time we had very little $$, but I couldnt have asked for a better gift on that day.

**wiping away happy tears**

He wrote me 52 reasons why he loved me and I got to open one a week for a year. It was great to look forward to Friday night and knowing another reason he married me.

He bought a gift each month for 12 months, then let me open one a day for the 12 days before Christmas.

He travel to Tennessee (7-8 hrs) and back in a day to get me a picnic basket I wanted. He did this so I wouldn't know he had gotten the basket for me.

He takes care of our daughters every day while I am at work. Not romantic but it does give me peace.

I know there are many more things....like the themed Christmas year (When you wish upon a star), but I don't want to bore anyone.

Besides about 5000 loads of my laundry? Never underestimate the romantic potential of clean laundry!!! ;)

Worked like a dog to release me from my ex's evil clutches. I am forever grateful. :D

DH is so romantic I couldnt think of a thing.
After reading the replies here I did think of him sending me roses on our first Valentines day together. However at the time I was a little freaked by this since we had only been on 2 dates. I didnt consider it romantic then. It was more scary!

I will admit he does a lot for me, and hes a great father to the kids, but romance...I guess it isnt his strong point. :p

My BF and I are in a long distance romance by need.He makes me smile with his e-mails and our phone calls.Besides we'll be together V-Day for pizza and Daredevil(I know, not very romantic but it's romantic to us:) ).He did tell me I'm getting roses and this is my first so yea,it's special.I'm also wearing the necklace he gave me.

funny story:since we are a long distance couple we use music as a link. Our current artist is Emimen
