What's the most people you have seen walk out of a movie?

Way back in the early 1980’s. Star Trek, the Wrath of Khan. I saw it several times and each time, more than a handful got up to leave just before …. (I guess - spoiler alert) ….. Spock died. I was never sure why they thought that was a good protest. Pay for your ticket, see 98% of the movie, walk out in protest just before a scene that they knew was going to happen. I don’t think they hurt Paramount’s feelings while they were giving Paramount their money.

I love the spoiler alert for a 40 year old movie! Now here's a real shocker, Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father!

I remember seeing the world premiere of Hostel at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival). I'm a film professor so I see a lot of premieres and man, folks were both puking in bags and plain ol' walking out during Hostel which I found fascinating and humourous as I found the film rather tame by my standards and a very clever political allegory. Oh well, to each their own.

The only film I have almost walked out on was The Passion of the Christ which should have been rated NC-17 (imho) and if it hand't been for John Debney's great score, would've been a putrid film.

I took a philosophy of sex class in college and half the class walked out when the professor decided to show us a porn movie. Other than that I can't recall being in a movie theatre and seeing people walk out. I'll admit I've dosed off in many kids' movies and I'm glad that part of my life is over...at least until I have grandkids.
