Okay, went to WDW in June 2005 and are planning another trip for the end of Sept/beginning of Oct of 2007.

Now we're planning our first cruise (not Disney, but we're going to the Bahamas, Bermuda and Norwegian Cruise Line's private island, Great Stirrup Cay) Actually, I guess it's all planned out we're just waiting to leave (it's not until August though) :)

My question is this.....we decided on Good Friday that we're going back to Disney. So I have been basically on this board and TGM since then soaking in as much info as I possible can. Why am I looking at Disney stuff and planning a trip that is a year and a half away and not AT ALL looking at the cruise web boards trying to find out as much as I can from them?

We've already been to Disney and absolutely love it, but we've never been on a cruise and I figured we'd be so excited for the cruise and even though we are, Disney is taking over my life right now. :rotfl:

Has anyone else been in this situation before---planning your Disney trip while another trip somewhere else is already in the works?

PS--for those of you who have been to Bermuda and the Bahamas, how'd ya like it? Tips? Must do's?

Every year I plan a vacation away from Disney and something always comes up that convinces me Disney is a must also - last year it was the free dining, so our previously planned vacation becomes suddenly not so important anymore. My husband calls them the poor abused sterpchild vacation that gets the backseat to Disney. So this year, early on, I rented a condo for a week in June in Gulf Shores AL. And what happened the first of April - yep, free dining again. Of course I had to jump all over that, even have friends going with us now and Alabama? Well, if we go, we go, if not - big deal, we are going to Disney. It is sad in a way kind of because I don't think in my mind anyplace can ever compare so we are missing out on some great vacation destinations - but - I don't care, I'm going to Disney

That was me last year. DH and I were going on a Caribbean cruise for our 25th anniversary in April 2005, had been to WDW in May and December of 2004, and planning another WDW trip in May/June 2005. All I was interested in doing was looking at the DIS, resort pictures, menus, anything Disney. I admit I'm obsessed...You will admit it eventually...

Boy do I understand what you are talking about. We had a Disny cruise all planned for September. Was all happy about that but I kept telling myself, I can't beleive I'll be going to Orlando without going to Disney. (no time, not enough vacation). I was always feeling torn and I kept telling myself how much fun and relaxing a cruise really is(we have cruised DCL before).

Then April comes along with the free DDP offer.....Bye bye cruise hello Disney! I really didn't need much convincing and with all the money we are saving, we can plan another trip for December 2007.

A cruise would have been nice, but to me, nothing beats Disney World.
