......that you've seen lately? I know that there probably won't be a repeat of the $24/one-ways that we got last January, or the $39's for May, :sad2: , but do you think there's a chance for a $39, or $49 Ding?
The ones I've seen for the fall (from RDU) seem to be $59-69, and I know those are good prices, but the low rates for our last few trips really spoiled us :teeth: .
By some miracle, we got Delta at $49 each way for October, but the downside is that our flight times and numbers have been changed 4 times so far, with no notice; I discovered the changes because some wonderful DISer ( ) started a thred that warned people to keep checking their Delta itineraries online (grateful thanks to that person :thumbsup2 )!

Not sure about the lowest DING ever from RDU, but the lowest I've ever seen from Chicago/MDW is $39. In fact, I saw one last week for the time that we'll be there, but the DINGs haven't been extended to our return date yet (11/4). So, for now, we're driving. If we can get a DING for $39 each way x 5, then we're flying. Either way we'll end up at WDW!!!!!!!!!!

I got a $44 BWI-MCO on the day we booked our rooms on DD's 1st day of school.

Just got a $59 for the trip home so $112 total RT not bad.

Now if I can get my DEC flights ( $79) lowered we should be set for our June trip with TTV credits.

I managed to book a $49 DING for our trip PHL-MCO in October. We fly back home in November and I haven't seen any MCO-PHL DINGs for November yet.

I saw $39 Dings from PHL/MCO for September. I got $49 Dings for both ways of our trip in mid October (this was about a month ago) PHL/MCO. I've been watching to see if they go down to $39, but, so far no luck and we leave three weeks today......however, if they don't I'm more than pleased with $49.....total rd trp with taxes is $117........can't beat that......gotta love SW!!!

For my trip next week, we have fares of $39 one-way MHT to MCO (Ding! back in August). Return flight on Sunday we couldn't do anything better than $99 though.

I also got the $49 flight.

On 9/13 I got a $44 ding PHL to MCO for October! We already had flights booked so now we have a nice big credit!

I have booked $39 DINGS($87 total for roundtrip) from Pittsburgh to Orlando, at least once a month for the past 14 months. :thumbsup2

luvflorida

so the taxes, pfc and security charges for flying out of PITand MCO comes to 9$ total for those 87$ round trips at 39$ dings each way ????

So glad to hear that SW is still giving those great prices! Thanks to all of you for sharing your good deals............now I'm looking forward to getting some from our airport, too! :thumbsup2

Just looked at my receipts. That was the total($87 roundtrip) for last year's $35 DINGS that I got from Pittsburgh.
In October(next month) my DINGS are $39 and my total with the taxes are below....

Base fare-$36.28
U.S.taxes-$6.02
PFC-$3.00
Security fee-$2.50
-------------------
Total 1 way fare-$47.80
Roundtrip total-$95.60 for next month

This is non-stop from Pittsburgh to Orlando..

Last year got a $29 Ding and next month just snagged a $39 ding. These are for BUF to MCO. These dings cost me a lot of money as I cannot resist a sale and travel way too much! When the computer dings the kids are the first to yell - watch out - Mom needs to get to computer! :rotfl: :surfweb:

What are Dings, where do you look for them. We are from Minneapolis. I thought our $202. pice round trip ticket was a good deal. Need some good prices from Seattle to Orlando on :sunny: Dec. 2 -9 Any ideas.

We got 5 RT tickets from BNA to MCO January 2006 for a grand total of $377  (that is all five of us round trip including taxes)!!!! Do you think there is any hope in coming at all close this January? We got our DING last October about the first or second weekend. I am getting nervous this year.

Dings are special fares only offered by Southwest Airlines online, and usually only offered for a few hours at a time. If SWA flies from your airport, it pays to log onto the SWA site (southwest.com) and download the Ding onto your computer. You put in whichever home airports you use, and when a special fare is offered, your computer will "Ding", hence the name. Many people first purchase the regular internet fares for the dates needed so that they are assured of having their flights, and then, when and if a Ding comes for that flight, they go ahead and rebook it, knowing that they'll get the difference in $$ as a credit to be used for future trips. Most SWA users book one-ways only, since sometimes a Ding is only available for one way.
It's a great system, and can save you lots of $$'s :thumbsup2 .
Also, if you have any trouble with figuring out how to use the Ding to change your reservation, the folks at SWA customer service are wonderfully helpful in walking you through the process while you're on the computer. :goodvibes
One other thing, if you can use SWA, I think you need to register for their "Frequent Flyer" designation.
Good luck, and I hope I've been clear! :goodvibes

I have a $34 Ding! fare for one of our flights, and $39 for the other... this was booked in late August, less than a month ago, for Nashville.
