What's the longest you've ever waited for a tow truck?

It was over 3 hours. First the truck got lost, then they forgot about us. We ended up calling my mother in law. Her car pushed ours up the hill so we could get home.

About 2 hours, but it was daylight and was during the summer so warm outside.

about 30 minutes- AAA usually gets them here pretty quick. I had a flat in the driveway last week so it was no rush call but there were here in 5 minutes- tow truck must have been nearby because it was SO quick!

AAA completely failed us July 4 2016. We were on our way to a car show and the fuel pump failed. Called AAA and told them we required a rollback. They simply couldn't find anybody! Meanwhile my Wife was posting on Facebook and a kid from our MINI community was nearby and had a tow strap. Fortunately we were only about 5 miles from home.

I've only needed one desperately (battery died 45 minutes from home) and it took them about 3 hours. I called AAA and it was the soonest they could get someone to me.

6 hours Out in the middle of no where on a Harley with no cell phone when DH ran over a nail in road. I even felt the nail go in. Another Harley stopped within couple mins let us use his cell phone to call AAA he had to leave an left us sitting waitin on AAA. We was sitting in front of a house but no one was home. We sat an sat. 4 hours later they got home let us use their landline to call AAA again. 1st truck got lost, 2nd truck got lost. 3rd truck found us, loaded Harley up on the roll back an gave us a ride home.

DH waited 5.5 hours last week at a gas station in NH. We had a bad flat tire and car had to be towed. It was freezing & lightly snowing light lily so lots of accidents and dead batteries.

I'm at 10 hours right now waiting for a AAA tow and counting...I had called it in at 3 pm and it is now almost 1 am! Still waiting. AAA doesn't even know where the tow truck is!

Ooooh. Zombie thread. Started by infamous former poster.

It was close to 40 years ago. Pre-cell phone era. My car broke down in a rural area and I walked about 2 miles to a 7-11 and called my father. He came but couldn’t get the car started. Back to the 7-11 where he called for a local tow truck. They said 30 to 45 minutes.

We waited about 75 minutes and called again. The tow company said they were waiting to see if we called back; they got too many crank calls and wanted to make sure we were legitimate. It took about 15 minutes for them to arrive.

My car needed a new alternator. 1977 Dodge Aspen.

Wow!!! I guess if I had to wait that longer I would certainly become a DIS member!!!
