We had PS at the Grand Floridian thursday and after waiting in a 10 minute line, they told us we'd have a 35 minute wait for our character dinner...The guy asked if we had priority seating then said okay, looks like it'll be about a 35 minute wait...We just simply said, no thanks, not paying all that money to have 2 hungry/sleepy/crabby kids on our hands...
Is this normal?
It was 8:30 in the evening...

Tubbies...
Instead on a $100 meal, we had a $15 pizza..:jester:

Just think of all the money you saved. I guess priority seating is just that, noy a guarentee. Don't' forget it all depends how all the other people in the resturant move. now in my case me and my son inhall the food. Take the money you saved and treat yourself to something, you deserve it. :D

I think the longest we have ever waited for a PS is about 10 minutes once at O'Hana. We usually go in January though, so that might make a difference. I think that 10 minute wait was when we went in September.

about 20 minutes or so.

LOL Jason!

Is this a restaurant board thread?

I would say about 20 minutes - I don't remember where it was though.

We had PS at the Garden Grill back in 2000. This was for lunch. We waited over a half hour. I should of just said no thanks. During the meals, I finally had to grab someone and tell them that none of the characters were making their way to our table!! We were seated near the door and when they would come around, they all kept ducking into the door!! When they would come back out, they would head in the direction away from our table!! The kids were really getting upset, especially my youngest, who was 5 at the time. :(

About 15 minutes for Le Cellier but we were early - we are always early for our PS's just in case they get a cancellation and can get us in earlier and just out of habit. I am always early for things so I'm not feeling so rushed.

30 minutes for Chef Mickey's for breakfast.

Longest wait was 15 minutes and Crystal Palace for dinner.

I can't say that we've had to wait long at all, maybe 10 or so minutes.
But, in talking to a friend the other day that called me from Disney, he said they had to wait almost an hour at Chef Mickey's. They had PS at 8pm for a group of 6, and that's what caused the wait according to the cm there.

We're leaving tomorrow, and hope our waits aren't too long...

Interesting topic! I am happy to see that no one had the kind of wait I once had.

This happened about 4 years ago. We had a PS at 1900 Park Fare, for the dinner character meal. This trip was with extended family so we needed a very large table! I think we had 7 adults and 10 kids, total.

Well, the wait ended up being over an hour. We had been at the Magic Kingdom since our 8:00 A.M. PS at Cinderella's Royal table, so the kids and even the adults were tired, hungry and gettin' cranky.

I was extremely patient and didn't cop an attitude, but I stood right at the podium the entire time, and received periodic updates on the status of our table.

When we were finally seated, all was well in about 30 seconds and the long wait was forgotten. The characters were wonderful, the food was good and everyone was having a great time! The adults enjoyed several nice bottles of wine and we watched the kids have a ball with Cinderella, Belle, etc.

I was totally delighted and floored when it was time for the check and the manager came over and said they were comping our entire bill for our entire party!! Not something any of us expected, but it definitely told us something about Disney's commitment to the customer!

The longest wait we had was for breakfast at the Crystal Palace -I think it was 20 minutes or so. I thought that was pretty good. We go out to dinner at home at least once a week and waits of 1 to 2 hours are not at all unusual, so to us, anything less than 30 minutes is great!

40 minutes for dinner at the Crystal Palace.

The only other time that we've waited at all was for breakfast at 1900 Park Faire and that was only 10 minutes or so.

It seems like the character meals are the culprits!
