What's the longest you have waited to book your air?

Prices and specials keep cropping up... and I'm hesitant to book and over pay... How long have you waited and were you a nervous wreck?

We are leaving Oct 1st 2005 and have not booked yet! We usually don't wait this long but the prices are very high on the dates we need. If they don't change by Sept 1st we may fly into Tampa and rent a car.
