What's the longest amount of time you have gone without going to Disney?

It hasn't even been a full year yet, and I am itching for another trip badly... and the boards aren't helping :rotfl:

I mean as a child I had to often wait many years before we went on trips to Disneyland, but as an adult I have been spoiled, and very spoiled recently. It is like the Pringles commercial- "Once you pop, you can't stop!"

So what is the longest you have waited for your next trip??

My first wait was 24 years. Yes I was 24 when I first visited the parks in 1997. Then I went in 2002 and 2007.

My husband is NOT a Disney fan, so I usually have to wait five years between trips.

So I have three years to wait until my next one. I did, however, receive a surprise....in 31 days I get to go to Disneyland, while the husband is in San Francisco for training. As long as he doesn't have to go, he is cool with me going.

Then I might get a chance next year for the cruise. If I get to go on the cruise, my husband said I have to wait 10 years before ever going to a Disney park...he wants to go to Europe...and wouldn't you know there is a park in Paris...:rotfl:

I was lucky enough to go several times when I was young. Then in 1994 my husband (then boyfirend) took me for my birthday and asked me to marry him at Cinderella's fountain! It was a wonderful trip but IT TOOK 15 YEARS TO THE WEEK TO GET BACK!!:scared1: But when we did it was magic we got to stay at the Poly in Tahiti with the most fabulous Castle view!!!!:dance3: Still I hope to go every other year at least. Send some pixi dust my way to help it happen:laughing:!!!

:scared1: That is the most horrible game of "Would You Rather" that I have ever heard!

And I'll cross my fingers for you Tiggspring...I hope I can go every other year too!

I got you beat....mine is 29! There were a few times growing up that my family toyed with the idea but it never came to be......Then, DH and I went in 2005.

Since then, my longest wait to come to WDW has been/will be from Dec 2008-Jan 2010; a little over a year. But maybe that doesn't count since we went to DisneyLAND in the middle of it.......

when i was a kid, we would go every other year then stopped when i was 10. took 8 years to go back. since then, it's been every 2 years. '06 and '07 i was spoiled got to go both years for my jan b-day and made plans for our upcoming trip in sept.

1972 (first visit)-1986(day trip from Ft Laud)=14yrs
1986-2006=20yrs

But I don't really count the day trip, so 34 years.

Now its every year (Dec) and this year twice due to PCC 1.0

And I beat you...;) my first trip was at 37. Then we went every 18 months after that. I was lucky enough to go 3 times in the span of 10 months in '07/'08. My next trip is in Dec '09 so that'll make it 14 months between trips.

Personally, I'd rather space my trips out anywhere from 15-18 months. The *specialness* wasn't as magical on the 2nd and 3rd trip of that 10 month span. I need lots of time to plan and anticipate my trip. I like the goosebumps that you get after you haven't been in awhile.

We used to go about four times a year when I was really little, but around age eight, we abruptly stopped. My parents never told me why, but I think it was me dragging them on Small World ten times a day every trip. I think that would make ANYONE hate Disney.

Anyway, I finally went again when I was 14 for Night of Joy, and I realized again why I loved it so much. We stayed in the Contemporary (Jetsons decor and all), which was appropriate for a Contemporary Christian music festival (they even pumped the music from the artists throughout the resort, which was fun). We also rode the monorail way more than we needed to. Now I can't go more than a year without going at least once. I don't know how I'm going to survive when I move.

My first trip in 1987 when I was 21. I went every year after with relatives until 1992. In 1995 I went with my boyfriend and when we returned we got engaged. 10 years passed and lots changed, buy my husband (same guy), me and our two DD's went back in 2005, so that was the longest stretch - 10 years!!!

Back in my early trips I thought I had fun at Disney, but now with my DH and DD's, I am loving it with a new heart and new eyes!!! We try to go every summer and I consider myself very lucky that my hubby loves going just as much as I do. It's a real family tradition. One I didn't have as a kid, and am glad to be able to provide for my girls.

Sending pixi dust right back at ya!pixiedust: LOL!

37 year for me too...birth to this past May. But now we have 2 more trips lined up. Spring break (i know we are crazy )
and PodCast cruise 2.0
My husband has said in 2011 we are going to Alaska for vacation, but I am sure we can squeeze a little Disney in somewhere that year too--he just doesn't know it yet :thumbsup2

Well, I've been seven times in the last 5 years, but before that it was six years! I went in 1998 then didn't get back until 2004! :scared1:

I know how you feel though. We went in May 2007 and didn't have another trip planned until October 2008. No way I could wait a year and half, so I snuck in a trip Feburary of 2008. A year is my absolute limit now!

Either from 1984 (First Visit) to 1992.
Or from August 26, 2001 (as a CP) to May 8, 2009 (for PCC 1.0).

So eight years. Twice.

It's been 5 years since my last trip to Walt Disney World. Back then Expedition Everest was being built. It's A Small world was closed for refurbishment. The new Tower of Terror (T4) was introduced. Allien Encounter was closed as well as the Timekeeper. and I Stayed at Pop Century Resort. :thumbsup2 I hope to go back to WDW soon and ride Expedition Everest and see the New Space Mountain.

The longest was 14 years between our honeymoon in 1987 and our first trip with kids in 2001.

But the wait that FELT the longest was between the trip with our kids in 2001 and the next time we were able to take them in 2005. It was only 4 years, but we wanted to go back badly and life kept getting in the way. The kids changed so much in those 4 years and I know they would have loved Disney at those ages.

Feb 1988 to June 1998

10 years

In 1988, only 2 parks, and upon my return, there were four.

The most shocking change though was Journey into Imagination.

15 years, 5 months. First went in August of 1986. Didn't go back until January of 2002.

Since that trip, though, I've made up for lost time. :) Since then, the longest wait was a year and 9 months. We went back in September of 2002, then again in January of 2003. Then we didn't go back until our honeymoon in September of 2004.

I went to WDW & DL as a child. Once I got married and had DS & DD, I decided it was time to go back in May of 2005. At that point I was bit hard by the magic of Disney and have been back every year since and even went three times last year. I am heading to DL next month for a one day visit, I haven't been to DL since 1986.

We have also done a 3 & 4 night Disney cruise!

Truly the happiest place on earth:lovestruc:wizard:
