Whats the latest time that you have gotten a room at Boardwalk?

It's 5:30 and I'm in the public showers, still waiting for my room! We usually get in right at 4 or sometimes way before.

Have you gone to the front desk and asked them to go check or contact housekeeping on the room? I haven't had this issue at BWV but at both BLT and VWL housekeeping had failed to properly update the status of the room which had been ready for some time.

The latest we've gotten a room was at BCV where they were still finishing cleaning and we got the room around 6PM or so.

5:00 at BWV, our worst was SSR, 7:30 and they had to come and clean/re-clean the room. We had the room to ourselves at 8:30.

:earsboy: Bill

4:00 was the latest at BWV. Last year we waited until almost 5:00 for a room at VGC. At 4:45 the front desk cm went to the room himself to check and said it would be done in a few minutes. He gave us each a use anywhere fastpass (except Radiator Springs). We used it for TSM.

Update: we finally got our room at almost 6:30 PM. Thank goodness for the showers at the gym. However, I know that requests are not guaranteed but we got a room dire directly facing the luggage storage cages thingies. Right by the elevators. My request was, "As far from the elevators as possible" :) Hopefully it won't be as loud as I fear.

After 5:00pm is probably my latest to get my room at bwv. Rarely ever have a room with no wait at bwv and we stay here twice a year. Latest room ever was after 6:00pm at bcv.

I would have used the wording "near the tennis courts". They may have just seen the word "elevator".

I never get requests ;), but we've had to wait for a room once - and that was only until 3:00.

I always make requests, but rarely get them at bwv. Our last 10 stays there we have requested tennis court view, far from elevator, high floor and have never gotten it. Our furthest room is generally the first left turn 4099? So now we always ask for high view because they just want to put us near the lobby. We are always standard view. We are heading there in less than 4 weeks, so will see what we get. Normally we try to check in before noon, but our next trip we check in around 5:00pm, so we will certainly be getting the leftovers. I figured second floor first room near elevator with our balcony looking at the Luggage carts.

The latest was 4:00 and that was at the Boardwalk.

Now as far as request go; I rarely make them. But I called the resort directly Sunday. I just had some "unexpected" minor knee surgery. And it's Murphy's Law that for the past 4 years I've been getting the very last room before you hit Atlantic Dance/Jelly Rolls. twice on the 3rd floor, and twice on the 4th floor. Great view of the Boardwalk, but it's a bit of a hike with a knee brace on.

Well when I called Member Services they suggested calling the resort directly so I did and now we'll see "what I get" next Tuesday. :lmao:

:thumbsup2 That's what I thought too.

I've never understood the leftover thoughts and wouldn't count on it being a bad room. We come from the west coast so pretty much always getting the "leftovers" and I've had the same or maybe better results with requests being met with later check ins than when we change to a different resort and get there early.

The latest our room was given to us was 5:30 at BWV. It was almost to the end of the hall. When we got there another family was still in there! Back down the hall and to the front desk to wait another 20 min.

Update2: We arrived really early (around 10:30 AM), checked in, then went to Epcot. So the leftovers theory is not valid unless everyone checked in prior to 10AM :) Anyhoo, we checked out today. Our room was 3071. Two doors from the elevators, facing the luggage thingy. Mornings were not pleasant. It sounded like there were people having a party on our balcony. This usually started at around 8:00 AM. It wouldn't last very long, about an hour or so. But, we couldn't get back to sleep. If you are not early risers (we're not) or if you are light sleepers like me, avoid 3071.

Looks like you got our nightmare. We stay a lot and know that if our number is lower than ?099 we are getting close to the luggage station. We've had our good and bad and we take it all with a grain of salt. We had our best room ever at bcv in May with the extra large balcony, but had the worse room ever at Vero looking directly into the dumpsters while sitting on the balcony. We know we have to take the bad with the good. At bwv we now always ask for high floor, but keep hoping we get the tennis court view, which is our favorite location.

Had to post this. I arrived at the Boardwalk yesterday very early, like 9:45. Go through check in, and told the CM that I called the resort directly to request a room close to the elevator due to recent knee injury. CM was quiet and read the notes then acknowledged my request. Showed me on the map where I was and it's perfect! I'm over the Screen Door. BUT...On topic now....my room was ready within the hour!!! I was in my room by 11:00. A Disney World first for me. Room 3041 was perfect. .clean and everything worked. Just had to post.
