Update: we finally got our room at almost 6:30 PM. Thank goodness for the showers at the gym. However, I know that requests are not guaranteed but we got a room dire directly facing the luggage storage cages thingies. Right by the elevators. My request was, "As far from the elevators as possible"Hopefully it won't be as loud as I fear.
After 5:00pm is probably my latest to get my room at bwv. Rarely ever have a room with no wait at bwv and we stay here twice a year. Latest room ever was after 6:00pm at bcv.
I never get requests, but we've had to wait for a room once - and that was only until 3:00.
I would have used the wording "near the tennis courts". They may have just seen the word "elevator".
I always make requests, but rarely get them at bwv. Our last 10 stays there we have requested tennis court view, far from elevator, high floor and have never gotten it. Our furthest room is generally the first left turn 4099? So now we always ask for high view because they just want to put us near the lobby. We are always standard view. We are heading there in less than 4 weeks, so will see what we get. Normally we try to check in before noon, but our next trip we check in around 5:00pm, so we will certainly be getting the leftovers. I figured second floor first room near elevator with our balcony looking at the Luggage carts.
Update2: We arrived really early (around 10:30 AM), checked in, then went to Epcot. So the leftovers theory is not valid unless everyone checked in prior to 10AMI always make requests, but rarely get them at bwv. Our room was 3071. Two doors from the elevators, facing the luggage thingy. Mornings were not pleasant. It sounded like there were people having a party on our balcony. This usually started at around 8:00 AM. It wouldn't last very long, about an hour or so. But, we couldn't get back to sleep. If you are not early risers (we're not) or if you are light sleepers like me, avoid 3071.
Had to post this. I arrived at the Boardwalk yesterday very early, like 9:45. Go through check in, and told the CM that I called the resort directly to request a room close to the elevator due to recent knee injury. CM was quiet and read the notes then acknowledged my request. Showed me on the map where I was and it's perfect! I'm over the Screen Door. BUT...On topic now....my room was ready within the hour!!! I was in my room by 11:00. A Disney World first for me. Room 3041 was perfect. .clean and everything worked. Just had to post.
