What's the latest offer?

My Dh and I are still considering joining DVC (we are still saving for our down payment, but are almost there!)

What is the latest deal they have going on. Last I knew it was either $10. per point being applied to your downpayment or the same amount of purchase points given in advance for use at another resort. Also no payments until April.

Is this still current or is there something new?

Same thing.

Best guess is they'll hold that deal in place for no more than another month. Once 2005 rolls around, I don't see any way they will keep the $10 pp credit when new members DO receive 2005 points.

Could also be an increase in the base price soon. The current $95pp price has been in place since May.

A better deal may be to take advantage of the "Free Disney Vacation" offer. It would still have no payments (other then the downpayment) until your Phase II building opens, but you would get some current year vacationing out of it.

Obviously, you would have to weigh the options and determine which is best for you. Our most excellent Guide helped us to make the optimal choices for us. I'll PM you her name and number.

PumpkinBoy-the gal on the cruise right now said the only offer is the $10 off/point.....is there somewhere to know if the "free vacation" offer is still applicable? We are trying to decide on this but it's hard doing it sight unseen.

If the salespeople are telling you the "free vacation" offer is no longer available, then that's probably the final word. DVC was having to use its own supply of Developer's Points as part of that particular promotion, so perhaps they ran short(???)

Either way, the two promotions are equal in dollar value. Take the $10 off per point and rent points from a current owner if you want to travel before you can use your own.

Tho only reason I mention the "Complimentary Vacation" offer is that it is still showing on the DVC main site.

It is an annoying pop-up on the main DVC site, so I would imagine that they're still offering it, since it is in their current on-line literature. No offense to the Guides, but I'd sooner believe something in writing, as salespeople are sometimes prone to "exageration" (expect mine, that is). The $10 off per point is a good deal, but so are the developer points, assuming you can get them. If anyone is calling in and finds out whether or not this is still valid, pls post here.

I recently returned from WDW and spoke to someone at a kiosk in EPCOT. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to take the tour. He took my name and address and I received a postcard in the mail advertising the Free Vacation Offer. Just got it 3-4 days ago.
