Does anyone know exactly how many days out you can book airfare? I know it is less than 365 days, around 330 or so, but I want to know for sure. Thanks!
I think it's something insanely dumb like 342 days or somehting like that. If you do to an airline website and try and book your dates, if you are too far out, most of them will tell you that you are and how long it is before you can book.
Just for kicks I was looking at Delta's web site in early January for Thanksgiving weekend and the cheapest fares for some flights on Sunday after went in less than 12 hours after the earliest possible time for booking them.

Most large airlines are 330 days before except Southwest. I always book 330 days out because I can only travel during school vacation weeks. You can't believe how fast the lowest price tickets go during those weeks. Remember...it's 330 days from your return flight not from the day you leave.
I went to the Delta web site, which is the airline we usually use, and it said you may book out 331 days. Now just to calculate when that falls for next year!
seashorCM,
You are right how the lowest fares sell out so quickly even so far in advance! We always seem to get the best fares booking out as far as we can. We usually travel about the same time each year, so we know how expensive those flights can be.
jjskribs,
Thanks for the reminder about the days out being from when you return and not from when you leave. I always forget that!
