An 9:00am ADR at Beach Club from POR? I'm open to all options, even a cab as long as it's not going to be over $30.00! TIA

I'm doing the same next week. Cab for me. Alternate methods would be to take a bus to Epcot and walk or DHS and do the same. Way to much wasted time. Cab fare can't be much more than $15.

If you dont want to take a cab going to DHS and then taking the boat is another option.

i can tell you what NOT to do to get to the beach club from POR - and that would be transfer at DTD. We took a bus from POR to DTD to get to the Yachtsman. Total trip took 2.5 hours. The cab would be the best way to go.

If you want to use Disney transportation, this is by far the best way to go - bus from POR to DHS, then boat to Beach Club.

DTD transfers should only be used as a last resort after all parks are closed.

For a resort-to-resort trip for a breafast ADR a cab is going to be easiest and fastest by far and would appear to be within your budget.

Best method using Disney transport would be what the PP mentioned: bus to DHS and then boat/walk to BC. Probably would take about an hour, but for planning purposes I would give it 90 minutes.

The last transportation guide I have gives transferring at Downtown Disney as the primary method of getting from one resort to another. (A newer, different guide may since have been published.)

I would have to consider this long a trip time outside of crowded times worthy of a recoverable complaint unless there is published literature that suggests that this trip time is to be expected.

2.5 might be on the outside extreme but have you tried it lately? Beyond being unreliable thus making it difficult to time, it can take quite a while. Add in a change in shifts and its easily an hour plus.

I was about to add a sentence using the word "unreliable" but you beat me to it.

Most aggrevating transportation story I have was from one of our first stays as a family. We were staying in the FW cabins and had a charactor breakfast at Olivia's. We left an hour early and not only missed the characters but we missed breakfast all together. We had to transfer buses at DTD.

2.5 hours it was, including a shift change and new bus driver training. And having been to disney literally over 25 times, i did know better than to take the DTD bus - however, we were staying at POR in Sept, and it was the first bus to come in 20 minutes. And yes, a complaint was registered upon our return, and Disney definitely redeemed themselves.

Suggesting DTD avoids getting into a discussion regarding park hours, how long buses run after park hours and special "parties".

It's reliable. It will get you to your resort 100% of the time. It might take longer then you'd like.

Thats about all you can rely on in addition to taking longer than you'd like.

I seriously doubt that even Disney suggests using DTD as a transfer point for early morning rides!!! Just not really doable....the buses running from DTD back to specific resorts at that time of day (would have to be about 8:15/8:30) are just not reliable.

Best bet would be a cab. POR isn't really all that distant from the Epcot resorts...much closer than I used to think.
Or, you can take the resort bus to DHS and then either boat or walk to BC. The walk will take you about 20/22 mins, depending on your pace. The boat will be 22 mins, not including any wait times. If you use DHS as a transfer area, plan on being out at the bus stop by 7:50ish, maybe a bit sooner.
