What's the difference between Donald's Breakfastaurus & Chef Mickey's Breakfast?

Are the two character breakfast (Donald breakfast at AK/ Chef Mickey's breakfast) very different? Do they serve different food? What about the characters? My bf is a big fan of Donald, but I've never been to any of the character breakfast before. Will we still find the same characters at Donald's breakfast as we would at Chef Mickey's? Which one do you guys prefer? :goodvibes

I've never been to Donald's Before but I've heard some negatives about it. I have been to Chef Mickey's for bfast and we absolutely loved it. The food was very good. The characters are Mickey, Minnie, Goofey, Pluto, Chip & Dale.

I also prefer Chef Mickey's. We did not like the food as much at Donalds and found the character interaction not as frequent or lively as Chef mickey's.

we love them both. Chef Mickey's is the loudest rowdyest breakfast by far. We always have a good time there but it is busy busy with all the characters. The characters at Donald's have different AK outfits on. We found the food really good at both with Chef Mickey's having a slight edge on variety. We will do both again on our next trip. :cool1:

I definitely prefer Chef Mickeys!

The main reason is the way things were done for us. We have been to Chef Mickeys numerous times and its always been fun. We go to the buffet when we want and the characters come visit intermittenly. It works great. At Donalds we were told we could go to the buffet or wait for the characters. Since they were already running late with us, we went to the buffet. No sooner were we being yelled at, by name, to get back to our table. As we tried to get through the crowds of people talking pictures, we were yelled at again and again. We were all so stressed (there were 7 of us) we left our 2 yo at the buffet, LOL! Upon returning to our table we were then told we had to sit and wait for all the characters to come around. We didnt end up getting any food until well after 1/2 hour past our PS time. My plan was to do an early PS and be out to the park by 9:00, which then had us racing to finish in time. Plus we were yelled at by our waiter from the minute he picked us(all his diners, not just our party) up at the gate. This made for a very stressful meal.

The food itself wasnt bad, but I was disappointed in 1 thing. I expected their breakfast pizza to be like CM's and it wasnt. I like CM's plain pizza, but this one had all stuff on it (I assume peppers???).

Needless to say we have since gone back to Chef Mickeys again and again.

On the flip side, many people report having great experiences at Donalds, so, take our experience for what it's worth. ;)

Do we still get to see Donald at Chef Mickey's? What about Winnie-the-Pooh?
I'm not 100% sure about donald. I dont think he is there and I have never seen Winnie the Pooh. The Crystal Palace in the MK has Pooh Characters at their breakfast buffet.

Thanks rgf207! We have decided to go to Chef Mickey at 11:30am so that we could still enjoy the rides before the crowds set in! :cool1:

The food and atmosphere at Donald's is terrible. Our food was cold and the place is more casual than most counterservice restaurants. The characters are okay.

Chef Mickey's doesn't have Donald, to my knowledge, but the character interaction is the best and the food is very good. Crystal Palace is my favorite though. Pooh and friends are there, the restaurant is beautiful, and the food is great. You can still see Donald in the park at AK, and probably somewhere around MK.

Wow--I didn't know you could eat at Chef Mickey's as late as 11:30 a.m. What a great idea to go there after doing MK at opening.

We really enjoyed Donald's. (Haven't done CM, but heard its very good.)
It's my understanding that CM has a party atmosphere.
Donald was very funny at our breakfast. He kept stealing people's coffee pots and the waitress was lecturing him on reducing his caffeine intake.
The wait staff plays tricks on you and its all very fun.
We thought the food was good, and the chef even made special Gluten Free Mickey pancakes for ds. Our only complaint was we checked in early (1/2 hour, maybe?) to see if we could get seated early. We were given our beeper and told to get our pic taken and then wait, and we were not seated for almost an hour. So I will never check in that early again! Someone finally took pity on us and squeezed us in. Don't know what happened to our table.
But the character interaction was so good, it was almost too much.
My hungry children were like "Yeah, Mickey, nice to see you, can I eat my waffle now?" LOL :earseek:
