What's the construction status of Saratoga?

I'm trying to book a weekend in May at BWV or BCV, and of course there's no availability for Sunday night. We have a choice of OKW or Saratoga Springs. We won't have a rental car. We're going primarily for the Flower and Garden Festival, which we should be able to get a good dose of from Friday to Sunday while at an EPCOT DVC resort.

Between OKW and SSR, which will offer better "entertainment" options? (We've only stayed at BWV in the past.) By entertainment, I mean...restaurants, walking proximity to...anything? Boat transportation to anywhere? Is SSR in a condition, construction-wise, where I'd WANT to stay there?

TIA for any info. This will be our very first time away without kids in almost 17 years. :teeth:

Mary Ann, we were there 2 weeks ago, and yes there is a lot of construction. But, in no way did it bother any of us. It is a beautiful resort, and a short walk to DD. I think I would pick it over OKW with out a car. There will be a few more area of SSR open by then. Request a Congress Park building close to DD and you'll have a short walk to DD. The bus service is decent, probably about as good as OKW. We really enjoyed our trip.

Thanks!

What else is there at SSR? Any restaurants? Marina? The closer we are to DD, are we further from something else we'd want to be near? It's so hard to go to another resort when we know one (BWV) so well, but I'm excited! And honestly, if it wasn't for not being able to get a room at BWV/BCV, we'd never stay anywhere else (blame DH for that  ).

WOW 17yrs. I'd go with SSR. I think the rooms have a more romantic feel. Are you getting a 1br? The whirlpool tub and some champagne would be nice  .Hope you have a magical vacation :wizard: Susan

No, a studio. We're much too into Disney to waste time being romantic. LOL Seriously, we plan to do some marathon Disney touring without the kids. Besides, have to save those points for our next trip with the kiddies.

Saratoga Springs has a Community Hall (mostly games and kids activities), an arcade, the Spa, the Turf Club (upstairs from the lobby...pool table, big screen TV, drinks and (I think) appetizers.).

As stated above, it's a very quick walk to DTD...or a short boat ride.

We visited and walked through the showcase rooms on Tuesday. There will be buildings opening in March, April and June as of right now. Congress Park is a very nice walk from or to downtown. The other buildings opening March and April will be a little further away (across the bridge and closer to the town square area).
