Just trying to work out what we could afford for 4 nights at the end of our stay in January.

I would LOVE to stay at the Polynesian in a Lagoon view room but unless the prices drops by half, it's not gonna happen! :(

Alternatives are AK Lodge and Wilderness Lodge.

I have DC and maybe AP, still trying to decide on passes.

I would love to know what you best rate for these hotels in Jan has been in the past.

Thanks :D

I haven't stayed at the resorts you mentioned in January before; however, I did stay at the Grand Floridian in January 2001. We used our AP's to get a rate of $199/nt if I recall correctly.

Our rate at the YC, standard view, 1/1/02-1/6/02, was $169 ($187.59 inc. tax) per night.

For Jan.'02 we had savannah view rooms at AKL for $169 plus tax, and garden view rooms at the Poly for $174 plus tax. These were AP rates. Without the AP, the discounted code rate for AKL SV rooms was $189 plus tax, and it was $179 plus tax at the Poly for the GV rooms.

I'm glad to see that people have been able to get good rates at WDW in January. We had a good rate at the GF this year, and will be doinga another January trip in 2004. I am looking at Animal Kingdom Lodge's Deluxe Savanna View or the Yacht Club's Water View right now. I'd also consider the BoardWalk, Contemporary, Polynesian, Beach Club, and Grand Floridian! :) I just need a good rate as I'll need two rooms.

We stayed at the Boardwalk in Jan 2002, standard room for $193.14 including taxes.

Loved the Epcot resort location. We were able to walk to Epcot and MGM.

Polynesian, garden view room, last week in January 2000 $164.00.

Try renting points from a DVC member and you could stay at Boardwalk for $99 per night (total) in January (Sunday through Thursday nights; Friday and Saturday nights are more expensive). We stayed for 4 nights for $396.
