WHat's the cheapest hotel you've stayed in on the 192

I need to find a bargain if we're going to make the trip in November. It has to be Kissimmee and preferably towards the west end of the 192 as the east end has really gone bad in recent years.

ETA: It's just me and DH. Pool would be nice but not a deal breaker. We have a car and will travel to eat. A fridge would be nice though :0)

Howard Johnson Maingate West cost something ridiculously cheap like $19 a night (for the room).

If I was travelling on a budget I would stay here again - it is basic but clean, and had 3 pools.

As long as your trip doesn't co-incide with Thanksgiving, you can shop around when you get there. I doubt you will get better than $19 though unless you stop at one of those bright pink motels which seem to be frequented by the hispanics.

Im not sure on the cost per night but its the cheapest one in the virgin brochure and it suited us fine. Not luxurious in any way but a clean, large basic room with fantastic access to disney via sherbeth road.

If you are happy not to plan, then pick up one of the discounts books at a local 'tourist information' place. We got a good discount on the Howard Johnston mentioned above using this - and a better price than the couple in front of us in the queue who just asked for the best rate. The HoJo was perfectly fine - clean large enough rooms and very cheap.

I think it was $29 a night.

Don't forget with the new Visa waiver eequirments and security requirements you need to be able to give them the address of the first nights accomdation before you fly out, but only the first night.

Thanks guys - we're swayed by the Fairfield Inn in lake buena vista at the moment - thought we might give it a go as we found a good price and we like the location - it's near Disney and the 192 for eating. We want this to be a relaxing trip so on thinking about it we decided the room/hotel/pool needs to be nicer than cheap and cheerful as we'll be spending a bit more time there... well that's the plan

and its kindof related to this thread. We've booked All Star Movies for the 1st week in September (incl dining) and are taking our chances for the 2nd week. Hopefully I can add another message to this thread then ! (Though any less than $19 would be something special).

I stayed at All Star Movies in 2004 and loved it. Have you been there before?

Days Inn Maingate East - we got this for $16 per night. Nice pool - near all shops - clean rooms - basic but fine

Nope, I've only ever stayed on site in Paris for a couple of nights and I've only been to DisneyWorld once about 4 years ago (though I've managed to squeeze in 2 trips to Paris, 2 to DisneyLand and 1 to Hong Kong Disney since then !). I'm looking forward to taking my time and smelling the roses rather than be a Disney warrior having to fit everything into a copule of days !

We stayed there too...no complaints..
