Whats the chances of getting a studio at BWV 7 months for 1st week of Dec?

I was wondering how difficult it will be to get a studio at the BWV for Dec 1-8. VWL is our home resort and I would like to try the BWV. I already have ressies at VWL. The view doesn't matter. The prefer view is the same as the VWL so if I get standard is a plus for us. I figure I will need to do the day to day thing. If that does not work the waitlist. Just asking for any thoughts. Thanks

My recollection is that the week following Thanksgiving is pretty slow, so you probably have a decent chance, but standard views at BWV are scarce.

You can hold your VWL ressie, and ask MS at the 7 mo. window to move you over automatically a day at a time if things open up. They will cancel the corresponding day on your VWL ressie.

Downside: You may have to move (even more than once) if they can only rebook a portion of your week.

You have some chance and won't know until you check. However, be aware that first half of Dec is one of the highest DVC demand times of the year--low points, Christmas decorations, and DVC annual meetings contribute to the demand.

The first week of December is very popular with BWV owners. For the past three years, I've called day by day at the 11 month window to ensure a standard view. This past year, I believe this week at BWV totally booked up before the 7 month window even opened. But I'm sure that some BWV owners switched their ressies to VWL or OKW at the 7 month window, so some rooms did open up. Believe I read that a few people had success using the waitlist.

Good luck! We own at BWV mostly and added on recently to VWL just so we could get VWL for 5 nights 1st of Dec. As it worked out we got Dec. 1-5 at VWL and 6-13 at BWV. And I did call EVERY day to add each day as available. DH asked if we could switch the WLV ressies at 7 months and I already told him there was no way we would ever get switched for BWV. So he is accepting the fact we will move during the stay. But, what the hay, there is only one thing better in a vacation than ONE DVC resort. That would be.... 2 DVC resorts!

But do try the waitlist and get on as soon as possible. Either way you will be at a beautiful resort. And who knows, we may bump into you enjoying YOUR week at BWV when WE move from VWL.

both pv and sv at a studio at the Boardwalk are already sold out for the first week of Dec next year. I am on the waitlist....

Don't you mean for December THIS year since you can reserve only 11 months out at the earliest or did you try for cash reservations in 2003?

I know early December is tough. We tried at the seven month window for this time period twice ('00 and '01) and were able to get only one night each time in a studio (preferred view), but it was very nice.

We have OKW for early December, '02 and will try again, but this time we may try for the BCV if they are available.

Paul I am hoping that a bunch of BWV folks will go for BCV and the BWV will open. I am thinking of trying the BCVs too but I think I will have better luck with BWV. I know the studios are already booked, we may decide for a 1 bedroom but a studio is fine with us.

If the extra points don't matter, go for the preferred view on the waitlist if you have to "waitlist" because, as you probably know, they are easier to get than standard because of the extra point cost and because there are more of them. We ahve ressies at VWL (home resort) but are hoping bcv open up. We will happily switch.

We have ressies at VWL for a studio. If we get a PV studio at BWV it is a wash to me. If I get SV then it is a bonus to me. If I really wanted to save points I would go to the slightly larger studios at OKW. We did a night there last Nov and we were very happy with them. We are going to DIScon and it would be nice to be at BWV once.
