What's the chances of getting a 1-Bed AKL at SEVEN months out for 1 night (Savannah View)?

I'd need to buy 24 one-time-use points from Disney for the trip I want. But I think you can't do that at 11 months out - you have to wait till 7 months out.
If I book for 12 nights at 11 months out, what's the chances of me being able to add one more night at 7 months out?
Ideally, I want 7 nights studio Savannah View then 6 nights 1BR Savannah View. That's 324 points and I only have 300. If I book for just five nights 1BR that's 293. The extra night is 31 - hence 324.
Also do you think I'd have to move rooms for that one night?

kidani should be available right at 7 months....
the first DVC rooms to go at AKL are their cheap rooms (value?).
the other rooms have more availability....
oh - i just re-read your post and i see AKL is your home resort...
you're correct that you can only buy one time use points at 7 months..

this is what you do....
book everything that you can at 11 months...
from your post i understand that you'll be short one night...
when you get to 7 months, you can just book that one night that you still need and then call member services to merge them..

or you can try to update your 1 bedroom reservation from the 5 nights that you have to 6 nights...
you actually should be able to do that without a problem....
if you have a problem, you can waitlist the last night...
do NOT waitlist the whole thing, which is what the system will tell you to do - don't do that..
keep your full reservation..
and waitlist only that one night you're missing..
once you get the night, you just call member services and they'll merge the reservation and you will stay in the same room...

but at AKL, you actually should be able to update if you want...

was any of that understandable?

In normal years, chances are very very high. 1BR are the last to go and they're available at 7 months most of the year, maybe with the exclusion of Disney race week ends and the first 2 weeks of December. But for a night for savannah view chances are not too bad even for those.

If you want to maximise your chances, you can book a different night calling MS a few days earlier. Then cancel the reservation, this will return the points to your account. You can now book online using One Time Use points, so you can book at 8am instead of waiting 9am when MS open.
There is a small risk to not being able to book and be stuck with the OTU points. However you can open a WL at 8am, for a 1BR savannah view my guess is that you'll easily get it.

Have a look at the Disboards DVC rent/trade forum, there are a few owners renting out AKL points for 2021, you could rent the one extra night at AKL now rather than buy the one time use points from DVC at 7 months. The rental points are cheaper also at around $17pp. You can then call MS and link the two reservations together so you keep the same room.
