What's the Big Deal With Staying On Property Anyway? *Goodbyes* 12/17 p.114

The sound of the siren is nightmarish in and of itself! I have horrible dreams about tornadoes. :scared:

Thank goodness you stopped for dinner!

Wow, that is scary!! That tipped truck says it all. I'm so glad your timing was what it was!

Me too! Were you guys getting thunder storms around the same time?

I'd be grumpy with out my DVR...what did we ever do before DVR...had crappy VCR's i guess!:happytv:

I know! They didn't have DVRs over in Australia when we were there until 2006 so when we moved back I was so excited to get one!! Combine DVR with HDTV and I'm in technology heaven. :cloud9:

Glad you safely missed the tornadoes. I love cracker barrel. I always get the grilled cheese on the sourdough bread with tomato and bacon. MMMM....I don't get to go often even though there is one in the next town bc DH is not a big fan....he'd rather have a steak meal somewhere. I think I love it bc my great uncle used to own a resturant called the Bean Pot in Crossville, TN and it is like an individually owned cracker barrel. We used to go visit alot when I was younger and I remember he had a piano that could play itself. Thought that was soo cool! :rotfl:

I love their hashbrown casserole. :goodvibes That's neat that you have such great memories. :goodvibes

Wow! I was thinking the same thing everyone else said... Good thing that waiter took so long at Cracker Barrel! I'm glad you guys weren't caught in the middle of the tornado! Scary!

The waiter was really cool too. He seemed to really like Sully for some reason. I think he got a kick out of the fact that Sully asked for "sauteed" onions on his burger.

Yikes! How scary to see all that tornado destruction on your drive. I definitely would have been freaking out. Good thing you guys like Cracker Barrel, if you had been a fast food eater, you would have been really in the thick of it.

Hoping the roads clear up soon so there is smooth sailing!

I hope so too or else this trip report might never get us to Disney World!

Welcome Aboard Chuck.......
Get it "Aboard"...
just a little Navel humor...
OK very little....

:rotfl: Okay - so it wasn't really that funny, but I'm just trying to humor you.

You embarrassed to take a picture of the chair cover???? I find that hard to believe.

I do have my limits! :rolleyes1 I really shouldn't have been embarrassed since there were some people at a table near us who kept playing the different ring tone options on their cell phone - LOUDLY. :sad2: Yes, we all want to listen to that, thank you.

Carissa, wow, how scary. So glad you all made it out of the area safely.

I have never eaten at a Cracker Barrel. Your dinner looked awesome. I don't think they are in the Northeast, not sure and I have not seen any out here in SoCal. Hmmm, may be a Southern Delight!! :thumbsup2

We always eat at Cracker Barrel on the way to Disney thank goodness it took you longer than normal and you missed the Tornado:scared1: That is very scary I always get really nervous when we get bad weather on the way down.

Holy smokes you're fast!! Sheesh.

Friday morning dawned and with it an excited Carissa woke up early. I had to get my last moments of internet use in before I had almost no access for the week! :rolleyes1

UGH........I couldn't do it :scared:

Here she is oblivious to the fact that we'd be taking her to stay in a small, enclosed space for 10 nights. :rolleyes1

Aww.......poor thing :guilty:

Very cool :thumbsup2

There are some in NH and MA, but don't think there are any in CA.

They were able to find out that a tornado had indeed touched down repeatedly on that stretch of 95 and hit Hope Mills. :scared1:

We found out later the driver was fine - thankfully no one was killed by the tornado.

On the last trip I think we ate at CB three times total! :rotfl:

Did you really expect any less from me??? :rolleyes1 I had people pressuring me to begin - I had to give them something! ;)

My good friend Angela is coming to visit next week and I won't be around for quite a few days so I'm getting as much done now as I can. You'll have time to catch up then! :thumbsup2

:lmao: I didn't even notice the early part so my answer is both!!!!! :rotfl:

Thank goodness Cracker Barrell was slow that night! I hate driving through weather like that; I'll even take snow instead. Were the boys scared?

Your CB skillet looks as good as the commercials! I need to go try one of those soon.

I have never eaten at a Cracker Barrel, I remember seeing them all the time from the highway and thinking they were cheese stores. It was only when I started to read the Dis that I found out my error. :rotfl: They do sell Cracker Barrel cheese in the States right?

No - they were busy watching their movie. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I thought the same thing! We use to drive past the sign on the way to Pennyslvania. And yes - we have Cracker Barrel cheese here. Yummy!

We saw them too but never stopped! Guess we'll try it next time.

Wow! That tornado was crazy!! We don't get them in the UK luckily, but it looked so scary!

Glad you guys missed the worst of it!!

I loooove that chair cover!

Hi. I read your last report and I just found this one. I am excited to be reading this one as it is being written. I was also born in 1974. I am glad you made it through the bad weather, and I hope the rest of your weather is great. I can't wait to hear how you like staying on-site. We have done both as well.

They're fairly cheap and make a good breakfast. Some of their dinner items I'm not fond of and it's not gourmet. But, it's good home cooking at a good price. :thumbsup2
