What's the Best Way to Book 9 Nights During Early January?

We plan to arrive Jan. 1 and leave Jan. 10, 2016 (Marathon weekend) ... so I imagine things will be in demand.

Home resort is BLT ... really hoping for Std View 2 BR.

I don't think booking all 9 nights at once is allowed. So what are my best options? Do I book the first 7 nights and then try to add on a day at a time? Do I book 2 five night reservations? Or a 7, then a 2? Or ????

I can be online at 8AM any day, but unless it is the weekend I CANNOT be on the phone with MS until 11:30 AM at the earliest.

Oh, if it makes any difference, we MAY attempt to switch to AKV at 7 months (at this point not sure if it will be whole trip or first half only).

Thanks for any tips and suggestions!

I don't know if it's correct, but what I do is book 7 nights the first possible day I can, and then call each day for the next two days adding a night on to my existing reservation. :goodvibes

I personally would like to have one reservation, rather than two and have them link them. Eliminates the risk of them trying to move me halfway through my vacation. In my mind anyway...lol.

At 11 months, as soon as you have secured the first 7 night, no one can book the 8th and 9th until 7 days later. So book 7 nights on February 1st, then wait two days and add the last two nights. Just, don't wait too much, because marathon week end is in VERY high demand, book these final nights before the 11 months window opens for everyone.

(BTW: this does not necessarily work at the 7 months window, even if the first 7 nights are available, the last nights of the reservation might be already booked by resort owners at 11 months)

I agree.

As long as you call MS before the 11 month window opens for the 8th night, you are virtually guaranteed to get your last two nights. It won't matter what time of the day you call to do it. The trick is getting the first 7 nights booked.

Since you are going to book the first 7 nights online as soon as the window opens at 8 AM Eastern, since your first night is a Friday night and since your morning to call is a Sunday, I predict success! (All those things bend the odds in your favor). :teeth:

We went 1/1/2015 - 1/11/2015, at exactly 11 months I booked the first 7 days online and then a couple of days later called and added the last couple of days.
The first weekend you get the leftover New Year's Eve crowd and the second weekend you get all those runners.

THANK YOU!!

So, book the first 7 nights right at 11 months (Feb. 1), then wait 2 days (Feb. 3) and call to add last two days on.

This process seems so much simpler than what I was envisioning!

Yep - that's it!

And if you're REALLY concerned you can book the first 7 on Feb. 1 then call on Feb. 2 to add #8 8 and on Feb. 3 to add #9.

It really doesn't provide any more security at 11 months vs just waiting 2 days to call and add the last days.
