What's the best twenty-something dollar hotel around Disney?

I can get the Best Western Lakeside for $115 for 3 nights after taxes and fees.

I can also get the Baymont Inn on 7601 Black Lake Rd for the same price except the addition of a $5.00 per night resort fee, making it $130 total.

Are these the best deals I can get? How are these hotels? I'm not expecting a Hilton. Just a place to rest my head without worrying about bedbugs, roaches, etc.

Also, what's the best deal on tickets? Maybe a one day park hopper and maybe a one day Universal pass good towards both parks.

Last, what do you recommend for cheap eating? I've already figured out Sizzler in the morning. How about lunch and dinner? Is there a cheap, decent place we can get to fairly quickly to minimize our time away from the parks?

Thanks!

My best advice is to check out expedia or some other similar site and read the reviews. We've stayed in one of the cheap travelzoo specials before, and it was fine. Honestly, the room was comparable to the values we've visited and probably bigger.

Thanks for the response. I got these rates off of Hotwire. I know which hotels they are based on the help from the guys a betterbidding.

I was wondering if anyone knew of something cheaper than $115 total, maybe even by calling a hotel directly? If it helps any, I have AAA.

How about the food question? Can you tell I'm going CHEAP on this trip? :rolleyes1

By the way... Go Noles on Sept. 11th in Norman! ;)

Try Windsor Hills! We got a week in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo for $488 and we split it with my sister!!! So, around $35 each/night!! We had our own kitchen and laundry and a pool on site.

If you're staying off-property, check out all the condo rentals. Much cheaper and more space than a hotel.

Thanks for the response. We're trying to get 3 nights for $115 total. Is it worth trying to call them or would it be a whole lot more than that?

Knights Inn West Maingate its has free shuttle to the parks, is clean and only a mile or so from Disney. Stayed there in 06 it was well worth the $19.95 a night.:thumbsup2

Country Inn and Suites at Lake Buena Vista is offering rooms for $59.25 (you have to pay in advance and it is not refundable). It is an internet special. They have a really good breakfast buffet and run a bus to Disney.

Continental Plaza Hotel Kissimmee is cheap and decent. We have used it for as little as 25 bucks via hotels.com. They frequently run 20/40 percent specials or stay 2 nights and get one free. It has a 2 buck resort fee.

It is just a few yards from BW lakeside.

I don't think there is such a thing as a one day park hopper. Just a one day base ticket which means you can pick one park to go to.

You can get a one day park hopper, but its expensive. If I'm not mistakin isn't it base ticket plus the 50 dollar hopper fee?

You can use coupon code 25hotelorb at orbitz.com to get $25 off a booking of 3 or more nights. Only certain hotels are eligible. Put in your dates and expand search options to add the code. Then sort the results lowest to highest. I bet you can find something within your budget. Good luck and let us know!:)

Wow. I can get the Polynesian Inn for $55.82 total for all 3 nights ($18.60 a night AFTER taxes and fees). The only problem are the reviews. Does anyone know of this hotel personally?

Since you are trying to save money, make sure the hotel offers shuttle service to WDW/Universal that you can work with (otherwise count on $15ish per day for parking).

Also, I would strongly consider picking a hotel with free breakfast or packing/buying breakfast food (i.e. oatmeal, granola bars, cereal, bagels, etc.), this could save a good chunk of money that you could then put towards snacks/lunch/dinner.

Sorry I can't offer more advice on the hotels, but these two factors could help with the hotel budgeting/planning

I don't know. I would assume if they really needed to get those nights sold, they might. But, I think there's a cleaning fee for stays under a week. Maybe not your cheapest option.

Any chance you can go with another family and split it?

Did this used to be an EconoLodge on Irlo Bronson? I think we stayed there. It did smell like mold, so we had to change rooms. The next room wasn't as bad as the first. I remember there was no breakfast, but there was a shuttle to Disney. That part was great. AND.........there was even a pool.

I think I have the baymont you mentioned booked in May for 2 weeks. When is your trip? If you send me a reminder PM I can tell you how it went. I paid 29.99 on hotwire but then got $15 a night hotwire credit when they took off the children's program (which was really cool, it came out to $235 in credits!).
