What's the best time to call to pick up a cancellation?

We can't get the room we want at the Poly, (no concierge left! boohoo)and are hoping to get someone's cancellation. When is the best time to call? Do we have a prayer? We leave in two weeks for my last-minute birthday-present trip. Any strategies, etc? Anyone want to give up their concierge room to us, lol??

I have heard (on these boards) that they release all cancellations the next day. Which means 7am ET is the time to call to get a cancellation. I would try this. And if you don't get your first try I would ask the CM if a room reservation is available immediately after cancel or if they hold them until 7am the next day.

People booking through CRO have to cancel 5 days out if they want to get their deposit refunded, so that's when I've been told to call.
