What's the best rental car rate you've found for 2006?

We have a rate of $167 for National Emerald Aisle for 4/1/06 - 4/7/06 using code 6600330. I'm still waiting for the 2006 Entertainment code to be valid to use.

YOWZA...I just got pretty angry at a National Car phone rep...and I rarely get angry.
But I had reserved a weekly rate of $175 for a compact with National online and I called just to change the pickup time...and they tried to tell me that it would cost $337.00 and that it was only because I was going to drop it off at the Dolphin instead of MCO...a day earlier to boot!!!! So I said ok, I'll just drive it back to MCO then....so she said THEN it would only be $300.

So I booked with another car company.
It REALLY ticked me off.

I used the 2006 Entertainment coupons for next year is that what you are talking about not being valid yet?

$438 and change for 4/21 @ 10am through 5/6 @ 4pm -- so, 15.5 days -- for mid-size SUV from Alamo. Would love to get that rate cheaper!!!

Picking up 03/03 dropping off 03/17 Budget midsize SUV $288.00 all taxes, etc. included total for 14 days.
How'd you get a rate that good? the cheapest I could find so far out of sanford was 345.00 w/ all fees, for 15 days, for a compact,(2nd up from lowest)what's equinox everyone's referring to?

Can someone please PM me the Alamo and National codes from the Entertainment book for 2006. We have one coming as a Christmas gift, so don't have it in hand yet. Thanks!

Thanks

$93 + taxes at Thrifty for a compact, Mar 2- 7.

Thrifty is just fine, but i would prefer National but they havent been able to come close to this rate as of yet.

Just PM'd you!

Well...I finally booked something...It's not great but it's the best that I've found so I jumped on it...

I don't need a car the whole time so, we are using DME to and from MCO. We are booked mid-trip for 3 days--Alamo using Ent. Book codes--Compact $89.68 (inc. taxes, etc.). We are picking up at CCC. We really only need a car for a day to go to Universal, but I thought it would be nice to have a car for the days that we are hopping to AK, MGM and Epcot.

I'll still continue to look for something better!

Nothing beats my 2001 Thanksgiving week rental 9 days for $135.00 total! :earseek:

Is there an Entertainment Book code or coupon available without buying the entire book? I'm looking for a rental for this holiday season and won't have time to get the book before I leave. Can anyone refer me to a link with a coupon?

Thanks!

Ok- this seems to be the best I could find- going in January from sanford- 14 days- alamo on airport- base price is 295.84 total w/ fees is 388.87(!) that's double what we paid last year... whadya' think?
