Which rental car company has the cleanest and best cars for a full size car rental from the airport?

Rented from Dollar-clean car, easy pick up/drop off, good rates, at airport. Register for Fastlane beforehand.

We've used Dollar, National and Budget over the years, as well as Alamo--once and never again back when they were offsite.

Any of those would be fine, just shop for the best deal and remember to look at things like extra driver fees and such when comparring.

Hertz. They are offsite but it is a very quick shuttle ride. The shuttle is always waiting. Cars are very clean. If you belong to AAA they have great rates.

I have used Hertz and National and done well with both of them.

Alamo is on my "when you-know-what freezes over" list.

one thing to keep in mind is the word "or similar". This past trip in Dec. I had rented a Jeep Cherokee. (It was less than the MiniVan) When I got to the desk they wanted to put me into a Jeep Libety. They told me that it is a similar car. And that is all they could do. I guess they did not know that I have an old Jeep Wrangler and that I know about Jeeps. So I started listing all the differences in engine and cubic s/f, passenger seating, etc. etc. Then I told them that you do not downsize a customer and expect to pay the same price, you up grade them. So I settled on the Pacifica which was as large interior as the J/C. So don't settle for similar unless that is it.

We've been well pleased with Avis. They have had clean cars, onsite, and have received good rates by using codes from www.mousesavers.com along with coupons.

National is the best, because you can combine multiple codes and offers. See Mousesavers for details. Join emerald Club FREE, as per instructions there. Then spouse drives free. YOU select your car......... we had problems with Dollar and Budget in years past with minivans (Bait and switch, they say your ressie is for a small minivan, to get a grand or Windstar, you must pay more). I love selecting the car, you can find one with extras, more luggage space, better color (we avoid white, too common).

National is no longer, it is now Alamo. I have always used National and hated to use Alamo due to it being off site. However, since Alamo took over National, they are on site and I have used them exclusively for the past 7 trips, great prices and always have cars ready.

National does still exist and so far thier service has been better then the Alamo side. Until the Alamo "no service" extends to National I will keep using them.

The way the company is doing it, they are targeting National to Business Travelers and Alamo to leisure. Apparently they think that leisure travelers like waiting in line!

Oh wow, if you try to use National they change you to Alamo at Orlando airport, I just did it last September and this month. Interesting. We are members of National's Green Isle and we can't use it at Orlando.
