Actually, I think Ghosts blows Thriller right out of the water -- he did it several years later and it was the same director, same choreographer. I would say that he meant to set the bar higher with this one.

You do have it on me that he did intend to set the bar higher on Ghost. However, at the time of Thriller he certainly meant for Thriller to be the best of the best.

And I respectfully disagree about Ghost being better. Cinematically, yes it's more advanced. But I found some of the more technologically advanced things to make it actually a little MORE campy than Thriller, and it's still building off of what his original idea was: which was Thriller. I guess I just like the good ol' fashioned originals better. I also like the setting and storyline of Thriller better....and the choreography for that matter.

That being said, I still REALLY enjoyed Ghost, both the song and the movie.


Regarding the black jaguar, that comes at the end of the music video for Black or White. It was edited out because of the controversial reference to the Black Panthers(speaking of which, he turns into a panther, not a jaguar). And because he did some pretty racy dance moves along with it. It was later kind of edited back in with some changes and now you can see it sometimes with the changes, sometimes original. They're showing it how it originally was a LOT on television since his death. Here's the link:

EDIT: Whoops, just realized, that's not exactly the original version. Everything is the same as the original version, except the original did NOT have hate symbols on the car windows. That was added later to make the sequence more...justified I guess? Just so you know. It's one of my favorite dance sequences of him though.

WOW! I remember seeing Black or White when it first came out, I remember the part with the panther but didn't remember the rest. OMG! I have always liked Black or White because of the dancing throughout the video but that ending is awesome. That version is truly my favorite video of MJ's.

He wasn't IN the video tho, was he? If I remember my PopUp Video right, the only bit of him you see is a dummy...the family was busy feuding when they made the video.

After that, I know I'm pretty much the only one, but for some reason i LOVE his The Way You Make Me Feel video. It's one of my favorite MJ songs, that was when he was at his hottest, but it's mostly because I love the choreography for that video. It feels so...I don't know...impromptu? It just feels natural and real. I really like it.

I have to totally agree with this! Also loved Smooth Criminal and pretty much everything that came from his Dangerous cd.

Oh yeah, how could I forget Leave me Alone? I LOVED that one. I was looking back at my first post too and noticed that I said Tyra Banks was in The Way You Make Me Feel but I was wrong on both counts! She was in Black or White, and the video I was thinking of was in sepia tones and featured maybe Naomi Campbell?...does anyone remember this one? Oh, it's In The Closet. Oops!

I also just saw Smooth Criminal on BET, and it was not as cool as I remembered it. Was there a different edit for the video version than the one in Moonwalker? I don't remember the really stylized almost stop-motion thing going on. Plus, it makes almost no sense without the moonwalker context. You'd never know he was the car! or who the little blond girl was. or why Joe Pesci's hair looked so awful!

Wow -- I could watch YouTube videos of him for hours. I had never taken the time to do so until now. It was great hearing his "Woo's" again! I never cared for the Thriller song/video when it was released and I still don't. I enjoyed watching the clips from his live concerts the most. He was so talented, and I think the majority of the people forgot how talented he really was, and he opened the doors for so many people. I don't think we'll ever have someone like Michael influence the music industry as much as he did.
