Hi,
I'm thinking of going to Orlando on my own this November... what is the best hotel to stay in? (is there a secret singles hotel I can't find that all the people on this site stay at!) - or is it just a case of hanging out with the families and honeymooners... not that I mind that, but it would be nice to meet like minded people.

I stayed at CSR this past December and felt VERY comfortable there. Lots of adults there on business and I never once felt out of place.:goodvibes

I think you have to stay where you feel you will spend the most time. Or to what looks appealing to you. For me, I love the Epcot area and those hotels appeal to me, also I really want to try Animal Kingdom and may do that on my December trip. . .

i actually enjoy pop. i love the nostalgia, and the price is right , i dont need anything too expensive when im by mysself, when i bring family i enjoy the moderates. if i do the moderates by my self it is usually riverside. the grounds are beautiful and the boat ride to dtd is most relaxing:cool1:

I agree, if your just going by yourself and are visiting DW. POP is a good inexpensive choice. The main poolside area is usually always busy with adults. There is a poolside bar that stays open all day. It's a good place to relax after a busy day at the parks, or for an afternoon drink.

I'm a single adult who does a few trips a year either solo or with friends. I've stayed at all the value resorts over the years, most recently at Pop and I still think ASMu is the best value resort for adults. It tends to be the quietest and I love the theming of Broadway.

HTH!!! :goodvibes

If finances allow, I love the DVC studios. Otherwise, I love either PORS or POFQ (choice depends on theming preference).

What a great question! If it were me and money was no object, I would pick a monorail resort. That way, you don't have very far to travel alone to get to half the theme parks. They seem more grown-up to me for some reason anyway. I'd probably pick the Grand Floridian.

Okay, this is my original statement. . .but I LOVE LOVE LOVE deluxe resorts. . .inside corridors, balconies, etc. . .so, that being said, if money is no object and I am by myself I want the boardwalk inn. . .or Yacht or Beach club. . .after that its gonna be AKL. . .if money is a concern, then I am going with ASMu or Port Orleans. . .dont care where though I do like the look of French Quarter or Mansions better than Bayou . . .just my preference. . .

If given half the chance, I've always hoped for a long aimless roadtrip to Ft Wilderness in a VW Campervan. That's been my holy grail trip for a few years now.
If I could ever gather the time, that would be my ultimate solo stay. "introspection on overdrive" is what I would call it.. I'm rather quiet as it is. If I took a month off and was left to myself on a roadtrip, I would probably come back to the society as a mute.

..hmm, maybe a bad idea. I change my vote to the Saratoga Spa.

Pop century - value

CSR or POR - moderate (might change to POFQ - but don't think so - need more than one pool)

any of the DVC resorts studios - except OKW - OKW has 2 queen beds - since this is a solo - one queen and the double sofa bed would be better.

so that means VWL, BCV, BWV, AKV or SSR

if you go to DVC resorts or POP - you will definitely see other solos or couples for that matter.

Thank you so much for the fantastic suggestions, it's been really helpful.... Is it lime green ribbons we are meant to wear??

I'd love to stay that close to the MK---sigh!

But, that said, I've always wanted a few days alone at AKL to take in the atmosphere and watch the animals.

If moderate resorts are more in your budget, I'd go with CSR if your a party animal (the resort really does cater to the convention set, and there are loads of business travelers there to meet and greet) or PO Riverside if you're looking for a quieter experience--such a lovely resort to walk around, plus you can rent a boat and head to DTD for the day! :flower3:
