We are going to Raglan Road in December and honestly I don't know what to pick as a entree. they have a lot that sounds delicious. Has anyone had the "it's not bleedin chowder"? If so how was it. Or what entree have you had and was it good. thanks!!!

Ahhh, glad you asked! After dining there during our recent trip, RR is now our favorite dining spot in Disney! Here is a little review of our entrees. :upsidedow

Serious sirloin steak: Grilled exactly the way I ordered it & glazed with a scrumptious Irish whiskey glaze and drizzled with a very light basil oil. Although it comes with “plain”mashed potatoes, the server happily let me replace them with colcannon, a delicious dish of mashed potatoes, sautéed onion s, cabbage and bacon. YUMM!
Shepard’s Pie: RR twist is to make this with prime rib and lamb. This was the only dish I was disappointed in. It simply had no flavor and so I just nibbled a bit.
Paddy’s Pork: My DH enjoyed this so much that he ordered it both nights! It was the most flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth tender pork we had ever had! The sausage stuffing and the honey soy glaze were both fantastic yet not overwhelming. Wonderful!!
Salmon of Knowledge: I agreed with my DS-the best salmon we have ever had! And my son knows his salmon! He got the maple glaze on the side yet ended up loving it!
Fish & Chips: Nothing “fancy” yet cooked perfectly and served with a wonderful fresh tartar sauce.

I totally agree with Lynninpa...Shepard's Pie is one of my favorite dishes but didn't care for it at all at Raglan Road. I was so bummed. It was the only time I ate there so I can't give anymore insite. Just skip the Shepard's Pie.

Well-not the fish and chips. Nothing above what you'd get at Arthur Treachers--and less of it.
Paddy's Pork is excellent. And that Bread and Butter pudding for dessert is excellet also.

We have been here several times and overall we like it. I too was very disappointed with the fish 'n chips...it was also a very small portion for the price. I have had the bleedin' chowder and it was very good.....extremely rich and it contained a fair amount of seafood.....not a light dish for sure.

My wife always gets the drunk chicken appetizer and absolutely loves it. The scallop forest is another good appetizer...both served with a bed of greens. I have also had the Pie in the Sky and it was good...nothing special

BUT....if you go, you absolutely MUST have Ger's Bread & Butter Pudding. It is awesome...might be my favorite WDW dessert these days. It is a bread pudding served in a large cup with two small pitchers; one of cream and the other warm butterscotch sauce. Too good!

I had the Serious Sirloin last time I was there and it was AWESOME. Also the deep fried sausages that are an appetizer are amazing.

We visited Raglan Road for the first time on the 9th. We had the Drunk Chicken, for an appetizer, which was good. DW had the Fish and Chips - and it was totally bland. The F&C from Rose & Crown (or the chip shop outside) was much better.

I had the Heavenly Ham, which had an Irish Mist glaze. The ham looked dry - but it tasted wonderful.

And based on previous discussions here, I had to have the Bread & Butter pudding...it was INCREDIBLE. Unfortunately, it is VERY filling, and after the appetizer and entree, I was barely able to eat a third of it.

We ate there for the first time in May and it was great! DS and I had the Serious Sirloin and it was cooked perfectly. DH had the Bangers and Mash and he really enjoyed that too. The best part of the meal, though, was the bread pudding for dessert. That's the best bread pudding I've ever had!

Has anyone had the Sole & chips or the Baileys dessert?

Do you mean the Bailey's Coffee Cream Pot? I had that as part of the "Dessert Sampler"I ordered during our recent visit. Served in little espresso cups, there was a white chocolate mousse, a dark chocolate mousse and a Bailey’s Coffee Cream Pot-“Tiramisu with an Irish Twist.” My DH and DS patiently waited for me while I devoured every last bite.. YUMMY!:thumbsup2

Kevin's Heavenly Ham. OMG it was so good. It did as a PP said, look like a big dry piece of ham but it was really a wonderfully original cross between ham and bacon in taste. Yummmmy! I second what everyone says about the bread pudding...delicious. I had the Goats Town appetizer as I love goat cheese and it was wonderfully creamy and incredibly tart. I love this place.

Has anyone tried the whole lemon sole?? I think I would like to try that, does anyone know if it is any good??

Great thread! We will be getting an ADR at Raglan Road for our upcoming trip and I was wondering about some of the dishes. Ironically, I was gravatating right to the Shephard's Pie (I usually LOVE Shephard's Pie). But, sounds like I might want to try something else....the Salmon or the Pork dishes sound yummy.

As for the bread and butter pudding....that sounds absolutely delish!! :goodvibes I will have to remember to save plenty of room for it. :thumbsup2

Anybody know what the dessert "Dunbrody's Kiss" is?? We will be eating dinner there for the first time 1 week from today!! I can't wait.

Here are the two descriptions I found for Dunbrody Kiss

"Dunbrody Kiss - Chef Dundon's gift to America. Chocolate. Add Chocolate. Then add some more."

and

"For sweet endings, the Dunbrody Kiss, a decadent chocolate mousse with a crunchy caramel base drizzled with chocolate ganache sauce, is irresistible."

Has anyone had the Sole & chips or the Baileys dessert?

We ate there just 2 weeks ago.
The Bailey's Creme Pot is no longer offered as a dessert item. The menu at the other WDW fan site (wdwig) is incorrect or dated, b/c I was so psyched when I read that RR had brought it back. It was my favorite dessert there. Alas, it is gone, and I did not see it offered on the menu anywhere, even in a sampler.
The B&B pudding was to die for, but still, I had my hopes up for the return of the Baileys.

As for the Dunbrody Kiss question....
think of it as enough chocolate to choke a mule with. seriously, it is chocolate overload, and very well done.

Sorry to hear about the sheppards pie. That would have been my first choice during our visit in February 2008. However, I am glad to hear the positive reports about the bread pudding. I now know what I will have for dessert.

The best thing to do in these situations is to ask your server at the restaurant. They generally have tried everything on the menu and know what's the most popular dishes with guests, etc. So they'll have a good idea of what to recommend for you.
