What's the benefit of buying the Dining plan vouchers?

The plan we were quoted for a four day plan comes to $51.00 PP aday.

Dinner- &31.00 voucher

Breakfast-$15.00

Snack-$5.00


If a snack costs $3.00 at the car, you lose the $2.00. If you buy an additional item, you have to put that money out.

If dinner come to $38.00, you have to put out an addition $7.00, but if it only comes to $28.00, you lose the three dollers.


I'm not asking for a way to come out ahead, because you never do, I am only asking what is the benefit of our family purchasing the dining plan as opposed to just paying for it as we go.

You're exactly right...there is no real benefit.

The dining vouchers at DL do not save you money & in the long run...you actually be out money on them. I found them a pain when standing in line to pay & trying to get as close to the amt as possible.

We've gone to purchasing Disney Gift Cards ahead of time & using them for food.....no figuring to do....just swipe the card & go.

I have heard they are offering Character Meal vouchers now....but can't confirm on this....but those I would find handy.

Correct ~ no benefit what so ever, to budget *prepay* for meals/snacks I purchase Disney Gift Cards and character meal vouchers.

Another vote for putting $ onto a Disney gift card to pay for meals . You can use it like a debit card, and won't lose any money that way, as opposed to the vouchers.
