A co-worker put 100% of his IRA money in Microsoft in 1986 when it first went public. Over the years he traded heavily in that account and did okay but when he retired 10 years ago he sat down and did the math and realized his account would be worth a whole lot more if he had just done nothing and let that Microsoft stock ride for 40 years.
