What's Myrtle Beach weather like this time of year?

DH has a new metal detector that has a computizer beach mode setting on it. He really wants to try it out at a beach. His old one picked up the metal in the wet sand and he couldn't get an accurate reading. Since we can get to MB in about 8 hours or so, he wanted to know if I would like to go over there for a couple of days in about a week. I love the beach and yes I would love to go, but is it warm enough to walk on the beach and do his metal detecting? I really don't want to sit in the room the whole time. We don't really have enough time to go to south Florida where it would be warm. We only have four days to come and go in. Anyone know what the weather is like there? Thanks, Boots.

I love Myrtle Beach! Hope you have fun if you go there for the long weekend. I haven't been in so long. I wonder if they still have that place where the alligators swim around lazily while you watch them from the pier? The beaches there were so pretty!
