What's more American than Disney?!We Brave the 4th of July! TR LINK pg. 55!!!!!!!

Yeah, probably will be crowded. But I love Harry Potter so much, I probably will drag my dad there.

Any idea how much a bus ride, or taxi ride would cost from OKW to there?

no clue how much it will cost for a ride to universal we are driving down from connecticut so we will have our car. We find it is cheaper to drive even with gas prices so high four tickets to florida would be exspensive. I actually like to drive down my parents always drove down when I was a kid so I just enjoy the ride.

It's so much fun!

I reeeeeally want to...but it's just going to be insanely crowded, so we just don't think it's worth it this time.

Wow, $150 for the week?! Awesome! That's really generous of your aunt! Good idea doing Potter that first week before our stay in Disney. That way, once you get to Disney, you don't have to leave and you can be in your little disney bubble!

Yes I have a great family my aunt is the best. she would not even charge me for the condo but it is not her normal week so the 150 is just the handling fee for using a different week than she owns. my aunts and uncles treat me well they fill in a little bit for my lack of parents my mom died when I was 21 and Dad died when I was 23 so they all treat me extra special. very lucky to have them.:grouphug:

If you contact Mears (they have a website) ask for a quote on their shuttle. I know their shuttle is cheaper than their taxi service ( I looked up the taxi and it is about $35 each way). The other option would be to rent a car for day. You can rent at the Swan/Dolphin or at the Car Care Center.

Oh I know! Believe me, when I like things, I LOVE them and I have been waiting for this since they announced it! But I just can't bring myself to do it this time. I just don't think it will be worth it...luckily I have you to report how it is!!

I have no idea how much it costs, I've never gone off property.

I know how you feel Nikki - I would LOVE to see the Harry Potter world, but I keep thinking the crowds are going to be really huge and they may not have all of it up and running without bugs this year. So, we are putting it off too. That said, everytime I see the commercials - I second guess that decision!:rotfl:

Saw the link in your signature on the July thread so I thought I would stop by. We will be there over the 4th as well. That is so great about the Wishes Cruise. We originally booked O'hana's so we could watch on the beach but this week we upgraded the first part of the stay to the Poly so that makes it even better.

This will be our first time in the summer heat but we are super excited about it. I am in Ohio so the snow has given all of us the winter blues so I am sure the heat will be fine. Plus, we promised DS the water parks this trip so that will be cool!

Look forward to reading more of your planning!

Sorry for the lack of updates! I just feel like all I'm doing is thinking and thinking about this trip but have made so many plans already, there is nothing more I can do!!

How about some more old pictures?

This picture is way before Tom's first trip...by the time he went for the first time, this was already gone. :(

I have never seen Lights, Motors, Action and I don't think I ever will. Aside from the fact that I have NO interest in seeing cars almost get into accidents, I am kind of mad at it! The backlot tour has been completely destroyed, in my opinion and I blame LMA!

Here's another old one from 1996, I think. Imagine our surprise when we walked into the MK and the castle was half pink!! Of course, this was in preparation for the 25th anniversary castle cake, which I did eventually get to see completed but....blech!

This picture is from our first trip together in 2006. We stayed at POR and took one afternoon to spend by the pool...well really the pool bar! Anyway, while we were laying there soaking up the sun, we looked up and saw this! Perfect place to spot this cloud!!

Here's a picture of our countdown calendar. It is an old picture, we have more days than that, unfortunately! We start at 100 and rip off a page every night. After our first trip, I switched out generic pictures of WDW, for pictures from our first trip....including the famous picture of me that I posted last time!

OH here's some pictures you might be interested in! I went to Italy with my mom, her 2 sisters, my cousin, her young son and my mom's cousin a few years ago. Is it bad that I kept thinking of Epcot! The imagineers really did a fantastic job recreating on a smaller scale.

Wow the imagineers really did do a good job!

I know, right?!

Nikki... I always knew Disney must have a mickey-cloud-making-machine somewhere!! :rotfl: what a great pic!

Lol I went to Venice, Italy, with my family a few years ago & we were all comparing the real St Mark's Square to Epcot!! :goodvibes .. it's sort of the 'wrong way round' in Italy.. the Palace is the other side of the Tower?! lol.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

I know, isn't it great! And how perfect that I saw it IN WDW?!

What else do you need to plan? You have your ADRs right? Do you know what you're doing on the 4th?

Okay, is anyone else obsessed with the Olympics? i just love it this year! I'm even watching curling...CURLING! The most random, ridiculous winter sport I have ever seen! Where does one begin to become a curler? (Is that what they are called?) And the Biathalon! Just as ridiculous! Shoot a rifle, then do a penalty ski lap? So random! But I'm watching it all.

In my class, we talk about the Olympics every day. We go on the website and watch videos and chart all the medals. I have them look up the flag that is shown on the website to find the countries that won each medal in each event and we have a giant chart on the wall outside our classroom. I'll post a picture of it when it's complete.

So just when I thought I couldn't become MORE obsessed, I just made the Olympic theme song my new ringtone! I just love it!!

Plus, USA is way in the lead with number of medals and I'm so proud! DH says that's why everyone else hates us! (Christy, Emma, Stefy...you guys don't hate us, right?) Anyway, DH is just so sick of the Olympics! The funny thing is, I NEVER watch any sports...not even the Superbowl but I just can't stop. It's my patriotism I think and the fact that it's only every few years and I love that the whole world can come together for some good fun and friendly competition!

Oh, and I love the commercials for British Columbia! Looks beautiful!

So am I the only one?

I never usually watch sporting events like the Olympics Nikki, but this year DF seems to have it on every evening, so I end up watching it too! It's shown pretty late here because of the time difference lol.

Biathalon... craziest sport I've ever seen!! :rotfl: ... how scary must it be to go skiing, but with a loaded pellet gun on your back?! :scared1:

Lol no, we don't hate the USA over here for winning so many medals... you must just have a lot of talented sportsmen and women! ;)

Emma princess: x

Lol, no I don't hate you guys. Well done, its a great achievement :)

Loving the pics, we will defo go to Italy one day (can't believe we still haven't). It is funny how you look at the real Italy and then look at Epcot. Those Imagineers are just brilliant at their job aren't they :)

we are driving down from CT and we are staying at a time share from june 26th to july 2nd its that week and the drive down I am planning I think I have Disney all figured out. I am having fun but I am a little obsesed and cant stay away from dis boards :rotfl:

I am with you Nikki. And no, I don't hate you. We are winning lotsa medals too :P The opening ceremony was BEAUTIFUL. I am proud of being a Canadian. Though they could have added more French.

I think the fact that you are opening your students to the whole world, and not only looking at USA teams, and winners, is sooooooooooo great! Congrats! I am not a homeroom teacher, but now I want to do it the next time.
