I'm planning on taking just my 3 kids to WDW while hubby has a big project to finish up at work in mid to late September. I've never been at this time of year. What are the crowds and temps like? Anything particularly special or awful this time of year?

Thanks

We went last year, and the weather was gorgeous! Just have to watch out for the hurricanes. We got there the day before Hurricane Jeanne did, and we had to stay in our rooms that one day, and the rest of the week was absolutely wonderful. Not very crowded at all, we hardly waited more than 5 minutes for anything. We went 9/27-10/4 and we went to MNSSHP before we came home.

We're going for the Christmas decorations this year, hope it's as great!

Hot and rainy the last time I was there in September. (I think it was late in the month) Crowds were great thought, walked on most everything. My biggest complaint was the air conditioning. Outside it was drizzling and my skin was a bit wet from it, comfortable outside but when you go into an exhibit/ride, the AC was SOOOO low that I was freezing cold inside! I brought a light windbreaker/raincoat and it was: jacket on, jacket off, jacket on, jacket off... all weekend.

Our experience has been that it's very hot (mid-high 90's is hot to a New Englander, but I bet the people in AZ are laughing) :goodvibes . This year there were three hurricanes in the fall, the third of which kept us from leaving on time and chopped days off our vacation the last week of Sept.:sad2:

We arrived 2 days after Jeanne. You will need to try and be a bit flexible. Your travel plans can get disrupted if there are hurricanes. Not only in Florida but areas you may be traveling through.

I found the weather to be very warm and humid. We kept track of the temps for our scrap book and we only had one day that wasn't in the 90's. That day only reached 87 :) . However the crowd levels were pretty low, and we were grateful for that.

We were there for Hurricane Ivan which didn't hit Orlando at all. it was nice and warm high 80s to low 90s. The parks were virtually empty... no crowds at all. Really didn't need PSs for most of the days.

It rained every day around 3:30 - 4:00pm for about 30 minutes, and then that was it. It was the greatest time to be at the World.
