My family and I are going to DW in September and were wondering what it would be like. We have read many different reviews on it and we're just getting another opinion. Thank you for anything you have to offer.
September can be a great time to go, or it can be really busy. The days you go are the key. We went last year during the last week. It was fantastic until the friday that F&WF opened and MNSSHP started....then it was chaos. The weather was still warm, but not as bad as July and August. Your makeup will stay on and your clothes shouldn't 'stick'. We dread going in the summer. Haven't been in the spring or winter in a very long time...sorry. Just plan your days right and it shouldn't be a problem.
I've done a few September trips and each one was great. The weather was hot, but a little better than the middle of the summer, the lines were manageable and the crowds were light most days. I was also there the last week of September last year, and as the other poster said, the day MNSSHP and Epcot's F&W Started the crowds got very heavy. Luckily for us it was our last day and we only did EMH in the morning and left the park around 11:30 to get some lunch and prepare to leave that afternoon to go home.
September really is a great time to go, you should have a great time!
We went last Sept. 9-12. We never waited in a line for a ride!!! Sure there were people in front of us, but we never stopped...just kept on moving in line. We spent most of our time in Fantasyland, but when DD fell asleep we walked on to Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Pirates, etc (we took turns riding). We had a great time. We hit the parks at opening and left by about 1pm each day. Then we went back to the hotel to shower and ate early dinners (5:30pm).
We were never in the parks at night because DD was asleep by 8pm, so I'm not sure about the crowds then.
The weather was very hot. There was only one day that we were so hot we were miserable, and that was in the Animal Kingdom. I swear it's hotter in there than any other park. Just drink lots of water and take advantage of breaks.
Enjoy! It's a great time to go because most kids are back in school.
