My best friend and I will be visiting DL the end of September 2005 (the 17-24), and I was wondering how the weather, crowds and hotel rates are that week?? Neither of us have ever been, so it will be a new experience for both of us.

Crowds are LOW, the weather could be anything from the 60s to the 90s, and it's a great time to visit. The only caveat would be that during the off season Disneyland does many ride rehabs and some shows such as Fantasmic may be down as well. But overally it's a great time to visit. :)

We have gone during that time of the year 3 years in a row. We love it because of the lack of crowds. Oftentimes, we get off a ride and get right back on with no waiting--which is great with popular rides like the Grizzly Rapids and Indiana Jones.

I do agree with WebmasterMichelle that a lot of rides are down for refurbishment. We haven't been on the Matterhorn in ages. Our children's favourites, King Arthur's Carousel and Casey Jr's Circus Train, were down this time too. Disappointing, but still better than going during the peak summer months. We average around 10 rides per day in September/October. A friend of ours who went in July was only able to go on 3 rides the entire day because of the looonnng lineups.
