What's happening the week of Feb. 10?

Hi. My husband and I have a short 2 day trip planned for Feb. 13 and 14 before we leave on a cruise on the 15th. I tried to book DVC and there were no studios available any where on property. We did get a discounted room at Pop with the latest promotion. I looked at the ticket purchase charts and the prices get progressively higher as the week goes on. However, the crowd charts say overall its a 1-3 level time. What am I missing? Its a random Wednesday and Thursday in Feb. Anyone know?

No it is not a random week. It is just before President's Day week, a very popular time for many families as it is often the first break following the Christmas / New Years break in schools. President's Day is Feb. 18.

It's also Valentine's Day. Maybe people have short 1-2 night trips, especially if they live fairly close. Or a long Valentine's weekend. It would be a nice way to celebrate!

Didn't realize there was a president's day week or why the week before it would be affected. I guess Valentine's day could account for it. I was just curious.

I was just wondering if the crowd calendars are correct predicting crowds of 1-3 given the ticket prices being higher, which would indicate a busy time, and the lack of DVC studios for the time period. I don't think we'll be affected by any crowds as we've been many times. I just really wanted to see Illuminations before it ends and this seemed a perfect opportunity as our cruise leaves from Pt. Canaveral.

Studios are hard to book anytime if you are only three and a half months out. Even more so during Fall Frenzy and they are gone before seven months out.

I was tracking crowds that week last year. It was much heavier than predicted. Crowd levels were 7-10 in the parks on Wednesday and Thursday that week .

In 2018, Mardi Gras was on Feb 13. This year Mardi Gras is on March 5.

I'm going to be there that week too and I'm taking the crowd calendars with a grain of salt. Crowds will be what they'll be, I wouldn't worry too much about it. (I'm staying at pop too!)
