What's happening at Universal/IOA on New Year's Eve?

We're heading to Orlando December 26th-January 4th. Trying to decide where to spend New Year's Eve. We will be checking into the Hard Rock Hotel on the 31st (late afternoon).

Has anyone celebrated New Year's Eve at Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure?
