What's good at Whispering Canyon besides the skillet?

We're going to Whispering Canyon Cafe in a couple of weeks for dinner. I might not end up getting the skillet. What else is good on their menu? I like pretty much everything, except for cooked peppers (I like them raw or roasted and cold in a salad ONLY!), and fennel or fennel seeds. I eat all meat and fish/shellfish too! We're not on any of the dining plans, and I am also willing to make a meal out of appetizers if they are really good. Thanks in advance, and may I just say...it sure feels nice to say I will be there in a couple of weeks!

My kids loved the atmosphere here. But I was unimpressed with the food. There are much better places to eat at Disney in my opinion. I had the skillet but wouldn't get it again. Had much better meals at: The Wave, Le Celliar, Prime Time Cafe, Hoop Dee Doo. You are definately paying for the experience. I also thought that they had the worst dessert selection of our trip.
I know others love it but this is just my opinion.

We are going mainly for the experience. We've never been there and I know my boys would enjoy it! We figure we should try it at least once and see how it is! Of the other places you mentioned, we have ADRs at Le Cellier for dinner and 50s Prime Time for lunch one day!

I had the skillet, it was OK and don't think I'll get it again this time....I am actually going to look at the menu in a few.

Really, I am just going for the milkshakes :rotfl:

I personally enjoy the WCC and make sure I go each time I'm back. I usually get the endless skillet, but the last time I was there I tried the grilled ribeye and found it to be very good. :thumbsup2

The cornbread is my favourite lol! But I love soups and stews so I like the Brunswick stew and I liked their pot roast.

:) But its not the best food in the entire world but I love homey stick to your ribs kinda food (and fat sticks to my tummy:|)

We ate dinner there last year and had the skillet. I would not order that again. Our friend tried the Chicken Vegetable Penne Pasta and said that it was very good. I agree, the dessert wasn't good either. Next month we are trying WCC for breakfast. Hopefully it will be better than the dinner we had last year.

We went during free dining. Do you think that the food quality is different when Disney offer this promotion? I found the food lacking taste last year as opposed to previous years.

I love the Ribeye! That is the only thing I get there. It is one of the best I have ever had and get it every time.
It is very tasty and so tender.
DH gets the skillet but not me...can't resist that steak!

When we went in January DH and his friends got the skillet which they liked and I thought was OK. I had the pulled pork sandwich which I thought was really good. The pork was very tender and not dry at all and the BBQ sauce was very nice not too sweet or tangy. We also all really enjoyed the BBQ pork spring rolls as an app however, for the price they are just not worth it as you only get 2 so it is not possible to make a meal out of these!!!!
