What's going on last weekend of Sept?

I can't get any studio or any one bedroom anywhere in a DVC resort for 9/29 or 30 to 10/3! I was surprised that there's nothing available. Is it because of the Jewish Holiday weekend? ARe most schools out? I know our district here on LI is, but I didn't think it was the same for all the schools?
I really was hoping to get in a last minute trip, oh well, I guess I have to be disappointed I thought it would be a great idea !

My guess would be the 40th anniversary of Magic Kingdom on Oct. 1!!

That's also the weekend that the little green men from Planet "X" will be bringing Elvis back to perform in Epcot

Wine and Dine half marathon is that weekend and it's booked up many rooms at SSR (specifically 9/30 and 10/1).
There's also a fun run 5K (10/1???) at AK.
(From what I remember, SSR is the only DVC resort that was designated a marathon resort). The others were Disney hotels.

On various Disney boards, many locals are reporting that they are heading to MK for the 40th anniversary on 10/1.

Add to that the "2nd Annual Wine & Dine Half Marathon" that weekend.

And the BCV is a host hotel, meaning it'll have transportation.

DH and I called MS several months ago to try to get a standard BW view anytime during the F&W Festival, and ended up with the last week in September. I think we were at 10 months out.

There were several partial weeks at that time, but we took the last week of September in lieu of waitlisting. DH was also thrilled to learn that we would be there for the 40th anniversary.

You know...I just thought...if we'd waited another month...I could celebrate the 40th anniversary of my first trip to WDW, and no...I'm not all that old. I don't remember my first trip to WDW. I was 2!

There is a patient care conf for NHC Healthcare (company of 80+ nursing homes and home health centers) 2-3 attendees from each center plus families and numerous attendees from our home office plus speakers will be there that week. I know some are staying at the Contemporary and the others I know will be in deluxe accomodations.
